Here's my version of John Mayers - Heart of Life off his Continuum album

Rhythm and Vocals were recorded last April for my friends project and I decided to remix with added lead parts and solo today.

Vocals recorded with a Heil PR30
Rhythm guitar was my Yamaha SA2200 into my peavey classic 30 (pre mods) and a Heil PR30
Lead guitar was my Tom Anderson Classic with M series pickups into my Peavey classic 30 (post mods) with a Fuchs Plus Drive for the solo and outro ad lib parts again in a Heil PR30

Mixed using Digital Performer 7.22

Heart of Life

This is a recording from last spring. It's the group project from my production module in year 2 of my degree course. This is my mix of the recording which features me on guitar, bass and backing vocals. Michael Darling on drums and tambourine and Steve Morton on lead vocals and keys.

The premise was to reproduce a track as accurately as possible using similar methods to achieve this. I think it's a bit harsh getting us to try and reproduce a Beatles track but never mind!

Mic'd with Heil PR30's about 4" off the grille 2" from edge of cone.

First sounds is OTS on clean channel with strymon Blue Sky in the C-lator set to room.
Strymon Timeline with a Matt Schofield inspired no repeat super short digital delay as per description on his website.

Settings as follows:
volume 4
bright ON
Deep OFF
Rock ON
Treble 5
Mid 6
Bass 6
Master 6
Presence 6

C-lator: Drive at 12 oclock both bright switches off IN at 5 oclock Out at 7:30.

Second sound is the same settings but with Karma FX Klon Klone on with settings:
Volume 10 oclock
Tone 1oclock
Gain 10 oclock.

Tom Anderson Classic S with M Series Pickups in Position 2 (neck and middle) Elixir strings.

Ceriatone Cleans - Slow Dancing In A Burning Room

Same as before but bright off, Treble on 4 and overdrive on. Some more Timeline stuff going on, digital machine mostly and a Crowther Hotcake kicked in for good measure.
