On November 12, 1980, Voyager 1 began its encounter with Saturn with a flyby of Titan. It would remain in the Saturnian system for 2 days before heading on its Extended Mission; nearly 42 years later it would cross the heliopause and become the first spacecraft to enter interstellar space.

Beyond the Planets is the first part of my Formation III concept. I was hoping to release it as a full album in 2023, but due to the scope of the album and life circumstances, I still have a ways to go. I also thought that it might be nicer to have 3 or 4 reasonable-length albums rather than a giant one that went longer than 2 hours. Even I start to get sick of these songs by the time we hit Jupiter!

"Nest" is an introspective track that delves into the widening gap between the privileged and the less fortunate in our society. The song features an original percussive base made from treated woods and urban drums, along with a variety of instruments including classical guitars, synthesizers, and orchestral basses. The male lead vocal, accompanied by female backing vocals, intertwines with a double bass and treated electric guitars. The result is a melancholic and reflective atmosphere, with an urgent rhythm and a depth reminiscent of the rhythmic and innovative approaches of artists like Peter Gabriel and David Sylvian. The engaged lyrics and intricate production make "Nest" a unique and immersive listening experience.
