Our process started off with a simple repeating chord progression on the piano for Helen to improvise over. We gradually added more elements once the vocal parts were complete and the final element is a field recording of the dawn chorus, recorded at 5am in our back garden.

The first piano track I recorded as I put my new toy - a Nord Stage 3 - through the paces. This keyboard has a lot of features, but what is most important to me is the feel of the keyboard and how the piano sounds. I used the Italian Grand for this track.
