She took an amtrak
down to the west coast
booked a shared room
near skid row

She’s a bright young lady
at the Cecil Hotel
She brought no friends
except for herself

She went sight seeing
snapped some pictures
posts them online
It’s the last time we see her

she’s on the east side baby
at the Cecil Hotel
so far from home
but only for a spell

You get a real sick feeling
at the Cecil hotel
like a deep, deep secret
you’re too afraid to tell

off her meds and kicked out her room
"odd behavior" it’s nothing new
something calls her under the moon
no escape she turns to the roof

There’s something waiting 
at the Cecil hotel
No one knows 
But it waits for no one else

The late night pacing
in the cecil hotel
can’t close your eyes
you’ll wake up in hell

she presses every button
at the cecil hotel
and doors stay open
like there’s no one else

did she call on any body?
did she ask for help?
did she choose to the face the demons
all by herself?

there are voices in her head
she can hear them yell
there are urges in her mind
she can feel them swell

now she’s gone for four days
till they find her in the tank
