The Ghetto Electric Sessions... That weird shit you'll like next year (and a radio show on RDU 98.5FM)

From the guitar and vocal based sound of Colombian nu-cumbia, to the carnival beats of Brazilian baile-funk, from the dirty dusty sound of Angolan kuduro, to the tribal prehispanic sound of Mexican 3ball....this is The Ghetto Electric Sessions, Thursdays 6:30-8pm (NZT) on RDU 98.5FM.

After growing tired of the repetitive emotionless sounds of popular Dubstep and Drum'n'Bass, Wubzilla and DangerGirl both looked to Global Bass for inspiration and quickly gained a reputation for their track selection and mixing amongst this growing worldwide scene.

DangerGirl is best known for being one of the first DJs from NZ to embrace a burgeoning genre called Moombahton (where tribal drums, dembow rhythms and heavy bass meet the dancefloor), whilst Wubzilla prefers the more latino and afrobeat influenced sounds.
