An updated take on The Eels' "I Need Some Sleep," which I first heard in Shrek 2. One of my all-time favorite songs. My take on it sounds nothing like the original. I relate a lot to this song, because I often need sleep (like right now) and have trouble with it. I guess that's not too uncommon. I apparently changed the words from "just got to let it go" to "just got to let her go" without realizing it, which is a kind of interesting thing. Girls, man.

i need some sleep

As usual, very different from the original (which is by LCD Soundsystem). I'm kind of unhappy with the muddiness of the mix. Part of it's just the software I'm using, part of it's my lack of skill, but mostly I need a good preamp and a better DAW...My interpretation of it is pretty far from the original, but I had a lot of fun making it. It's nice to be intense sometimes.

The Giant Peach is an indie art rock band from Middlebury VT. Their music captures a bitter-sweetness wrestled into songs late at night. United from disparate backgrounds in folk, blues, and jazz, the members of The Giant Peach came together to render these tales of stubborn love, mistakes, and repeated carelessness with a cutting honesty and an unexpected joy.
