I wrote this song ’Hypnic Jerk’ one night back in 2010, living in London. I had insomnia and was unable to fall asleep. It was dark and my head was cloudy and I couldn’t stop thinking about memories and lost people and at some point I could no longer decide if the voices I heard were in a dream or if they were real. If the things I saw were in my head or in my room.

A Hypnic Jerk; the feeling of falling just before you fall asleep. This phenomenon seems to be more common when the sleeper is uncomfortable or overly tired.
