Irish Jonno Brien started DJing in 1994 playing house, techno and elements of trance and mastered his craft so quickly that not long after he won the Janus Dj competition.

In the ensuing years the tech-house wizard played with leading clubs Clockwork Orange, Ministry of Sound, Godskitchen, Planetlove, Trade Eire and Trade in London.

He has also held down a fifteen-year residency at Horan’s in Tralee, the longest running dance club in Ireland. There he has ably supported DJs such as Christian Smith, Trevor Rockcliffe, Justin Robertson, DJ Q, Dave Clarke and many more.

In 2006-2007 Jonno also held down a residency at Club Fabric Tralee, supporting DJs such as Eddie Halliwell, Harry Choo-Choo Romero, Fergie, The Glimmers and Mason.

In 2007 he launched his own club nights ‘Homegrown’, a showcase for Irish talent, and ‘Fusion’, a party featuring international guests. Both nights continue to be a great success.

Jonno began producing his own tracks in 2008 and his first single My Groove/Enforcement was released out on then burgeoning Irish imprint Full Tilt Recordings.

The Kerry native quickly carved out his own niche among Irish dance artists, blending often dark and always funky elements into a tough new forward thinking and genre-busting sound that has been dubbed house, tech-house and funky techno.

In 2009, the Irish Daily Star newspaper hailed O’Brien as “the most exciting new Irish producer of the year.”

His tracks and bootlegs have recently been gathering major support from the likes of Carl Cox, Ben Sims, Marco V, John O’Callaghan and Eddie Halliwell.

Both Cox and Marco V have used Jonno’s tracks on their mix compilations and he has had a string of tracks released on labels such as Stars Traxx and Naked Lunch, along with a succession of singles on the consistently brilliant Full Tilt stamp.
