Cititrax is proud to present a four song debut solo EP by The Hacker‘s new project called Amato. Influenced by early EBM, German techno and new wave, Michel Amato aka The Hacker began producing tracks under his new moniker Amato in 2014. The first one to be released, called Physique, came out in 2015 on the Cititrax Tracks Volume One EP and was a dancefloor success. On this forthcoming EP, entitled “Le Desordre et La Nuit”, Amato integrates his love of the new wave to form four ebm tinged techno funk hits. Very dancefloor friendly, these tracks take pop elements reminiscent of Belgian body music and bring them to the present day. Amato shines as a producer here, as he has so many times before. It’s an absolute honor for us to release this debut project. Artwork is sourced from photographs taken in NYC in the 1980s with layout by Veronica Vasicka. The release is limited to 999 copies pressed on 160 gram silver vinyl, and accompanied by jackets printed on matte heavyweight cardstock. Release date: July 13, 2016.

For our next premiere, I'm happy to present to you a track by @The-Exaltics featuring Gerald Donald (aka Rudolph Klorzeiger) - "Das Heise Experiment 2" marks the 6th album of The Exaltics and the 45th release of their, now 11-year-old label, @Solar_One_Music

This fantastic double 10" vinyl release is not going to disappoint anyone who is familiar with the work of @The-Exaltics and their label. Its amazing presentation sets it apart in a big way with full-color artwork (by Godspill), unique packaging and included comic book make this a must-have for any fan of contemporary Electro music. The music contained within this release range from dark experimental Techno, Electro, Ambient and soundtrack-ish nightmares which goes perfectly with the story of the comic. 

The track selected by @DVSNME to premiere for @DarkScienceElectro is the collaboration track between @The-Exaltics and the one and only Rudolph Klorzeiger. This track is one of a handful of standouts on the release, however, this composition really struck me as the single. If not for its obvious collaborative pull, for its 125 BPM speed and Electro-focused nature. The elastic bassline and creepy strings pull you in while a well-crafted lead synth conjures images of private investigators on a distant planet attempting to solve a mystery. 

This record is absolutely not club music which is one of the reasons why I was so excited to get the opportunity to premiere a track from the release. This and much of what SOM has been doing is one of the reasons I started a weekly podcast to begin with. This dark, strange, cold side of Electro music is why I do what I do and I'm very proud to share this with you all. Turn your headphones on and dive into the world of aliens, scientists, and distant galaxies.

These times where everything occurs so fast is really difficult to make a pause and with calm try to understand what you have in front of you.

Just for the simple fact you are reading about this new project, we want to thank you, so thank you very much for supporting this project, we really appreciate you put some of your time reading and listen about it.

This is an epic crusade that simply wants to show in all its splendor what it means for many of us such an eroded term but as beautiful as it is the word "underground".

For many of us, this music represents values that we would like to see more often, values that we want (and we need) to be reflected in future generations.

Now that everyone talks about our music is easy to read here and there things like "...electro music is very limited ... sounds always the same"... These words really hurts many of us, the many we love, and we know in depth what electro music is, because electro music is just the opposite, it is a very diverse and rich music, you can feel the pulse of electro in many compositions, thousands of tracks, even in ambient tracks with no beats.

For this reason we call this project ELECTRIC ECLECTICS

The support we received to our last projects, the 5th Anniversary 808 Box and Music For The Other People Place helped us to take more risk and decide to start with Electric Eclectics.

The foundations and the aim of this project is exactly the same of the 808 Box, but this time we want to put the light over some artists who helped to build and develop the sound of modern electro music, but also others that we consider the present and the future of our music, the Underground Electro Music.

This new box includes 21 high quality vinyl records, mastered and cut at 45rpm for the best sound and dynamics. Each of the first 18 records are dedicated to one artist, the other 2 are an advance of the second part of this project next year. The audio included here is about one/two minutes of all tracks included in each record... this is more than 3 hours... the total length of the 21 records is almost 9 hours of pure electro music.

It’s Belgium vs. Malta for the second split EP on Gated, with Datawave’s tough take on electro kicking off the A side and Sound Synthesis’s cosmic machine music on the B.

Both producers are currently making waves with numerous releases on labels like Fundamental and Nebulae, with their complementary yet distinct styles of electro brought together for the first time.

Perhaps the most obviously peaktime track, Datawave’s Pulsar sounds immense, with a wriggling bassline and cracking drums that’ll cut through on a system.

Breach Out takes things darker and deeper, with gnarly and hypnotic synths leading you on some tripped out journey into a dystopic future.

Sound Synthesis, meanwhile, lightens the mood with Lost in Orbit, but retains that sense of moving into the future. Except this time it’s somewhere beyond the stars.

That said, EP-closer MH System is the kind of classic 4am stomper every DJ needs, with a low-slung bassline and spaced-out samples guaranteed to keep the floor moving.

B1 Sound Synthesis - Lost In Orbit (Clip)

Less than one year after his 2019 release entitled ‘Trans Asia Express’, DVS NME returns with a collection of original tracks that were produced between 2018-2020. This 30-track album is a not-so-subtle nod to the Electro inspirations that have helped to influence the DVS NME sound that has developed over the course of the last 20 years. The most obvious influence is that of Detroit pioneers Drexciya and subsequent projects by Gerald Donald. The album pays homage to Dopplereffekt’s 1999 album ‘Gesamtkunstwerk’ in both its title and cover art. The release ranges from brooding, downtempo machine funk all the way to dancefloor-oriented melodic Electro. The album relies heavily on the sounds of classic Electro machines like Mono/Poly, MS-20, SH-101, Jupiter-8, Juno-106, JX-3P, TB-303, Polysix, TR-606, OB-8, TR-808, ARP Odyssey, and TR-909. DVS NME is the man behind the weekly radio show/daily blog called 'Dark Science Electro' and has been a dedicated contributor for the Electro community for the last 10 years. He shares his love of Electro music by posting Electro-affiliated news, art, mixes, albums, memes, concerts, tracks, gear and more. DVS NME - Sentientism

Tenebrous frenchman Jon Beige (formerly known as Beige) strikes back with his 3rd release, and once again creates his own genres that we’re going to define here as ghettowave or leftfield-core. Melting high-tech soundscapes, hypnotic synths and broken drums, his heavily synthetic universe spreads into 5 new tracks. Here’s a few words about them, including comments from the producer himself.

Distorsion Naturelle de l’Auto Radio is a straight-in-the-face kind of entrance. This arid and distorted urban jam puts you straight in the heart of Jon Beige’s dystopian Gotham paradise « I often imagine it as a laser tag game that would turn wrong ».

On Palo Santo, Jon Beige is going dancehall. Using the genre’s symptomatic drum pattern, he navigates between club-friendly and meditative moods in a tensed yet balanced journey. « That’s the track I think is the most finished of the EP, but all the tracks match together in a not-fully-calculated way ».Hydrocution is a funk ballad, like a mysterious forest walk surrounded by disturbing but harmless creatures that are taking you to a bright glade, where you will finally stumble into the master of the place. « I often struggle to produce something simple with just a few elements – this track is the first time I succeeded. »

Isolat is a smooth and psychedelic sci-fi trip, unexpected and always moving forward « I imagined a little robot lost in a city suburb, wondering what he was doing there. Mood is kinda Spike Jonze’s ‘’Da Funk’’ but with a robot ».

The EP closes in a very noir scene, heavy rain, melancholia and cold blooded crimes : Déjeuner Sous l’Herbe won’t let you rest in peace. « This track, my oldest on this EP, was made in 2014. I’m still really into the solo in the end ».

The artwork is designed and imagined by Belgrade-based artist and producer Stevie Whisper, aka the hands behind Yes and Mystic Stylez.
The record will be released as a ziplock package that includes a USB stick with the WAV files and exclusive club remixes + a limited edition poster + some cool stickers.

Releasing Jon Beige since his earliest work, Global Warming Records is run by french producer and talent seeker Malcolm, who imagines and shapes each project hand in hand with his artists. Friendly Surveillance will be the label’s 12th release.
