Little Something

Island Song is tropical pop as dreamt in the poolside doze of your classic Brit abroad. Soon he'll wake up and smell the suncream. French accordion, Cuban congas, Greek guitars - this traveller doesn't know his Seychelles from his Scarborough, his Barbados from his Blackpool. He's pink as a Pink Lady, greener than a five-Euro note - but he's got a love inside him that burns hotter than the sun. 

This lush and lilting tune is the Harriets' first single since their acclaimed 2020 album Hopefuls and the A Little Something EP in 2021. 

The upbeat and melodic songwriting and intimate vocal harmonies are back - as if they ever went away - with a broader instrumental palette (keyboardist Jess on flute duties) and an irresistible bass and toms groove. Sit back, listen close, start dreaming - and get booking while flights are cheap.

Island Song

Last Christmas, when our songwriting duo Dan and Ben went back to their family houses for the holidays, they composed a Christmas song each, without the knowledge of the other. To celebrate this festive miracle we decided to record both tunes and release them as a double A-side for Christmas 2018.   

One, 'Anyway, it's Christmas,' is a tale of melancholy and winter romance. The other, 'A Christmas Box,' is a song of warmth and Yuletide cheer, with a chorus you'll be singing through to the New Year.

A Christmas Box

The Harriets are a Leeds-based alternative pop and rock four-piece, fronted by lead vocalists Daniel Parker-Smith and Ben Schrodel. They are joined for live shows by Jess Womack on keys and Ryan Bailey on drums. With accomplished songwriting, unmistakable three-part vocals and a live show that lifts the soul, they are making waves in the UK music scene. 

After being nominated for Glastonbury Emerging Talent and Record Store Day Unsigned in 2019, the band released their 2020 debut album ‘Hopefuls’ to great success. International sales in Europe and the US, a four-star review by Rolling Stone Magazine DE, airplay on BBC Radio and a regional TV feature have given the band a new platform for their music.

Their new EP 'A Little Something,’ out 7 May 2021, collects five radically different songs in one concise package. It  points toward an exciting new songwriting direction for the band, with a renewed focus on arrangement and lush chamber pop orchestration, while retaining the band’s characteristic vocal harmonies.

The EP will be released with a limited CD run exclusive to Bandcamp, as well as digital stores including Spotify. The band are also launching a subscription service via Bandcamp, beginning April 2021.
