Jackson Freud and Tom Hulse proudly present The High Heaven. Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, the band draws inspiration from the desert plains and whiskey-soaked saloons of the Old West, spinning epic yarns of lost love and bloodthirsty revenge, of wayward wanderers and grizzled outlaws with no hope of redemption.

Their debut single, 'Dead Dollar Bill' was released on 9 October 2020. Featuring driving vibrato guitars, operatic harmonies, and a gritty lead vocal, the tragic tale of gunslinger Bill and his unfortunate victims sets the stage for what is to unravel throughout the duo’s upcoming full-length record 'Fairytales of the Heartland'. As a bonus, the single also includes saloon singalong ‘The Evening Redness in the West,’ which gives listeners a grander experience of the band’s eclectic sound.

'Fairytales of the Heartland' features thrilling performances by Brodie Casey (Easy Browns, Purple Curtain) on drums, and Devil Electric’s enigmatic lead singer Pierina O’Brien on guest backing vocals. The album was mixed by Michael Badger (whose credits include King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s 'Nonagon Infinity') and mastered by David Briggs (Little River Band) at Production Workshop Recording and Mastering Studios.

The days of outlaws and frontier towns may have faded to dust, but somewhere in the far-off distance a steam train whistle is blowing, a lonesome piano is playing and the desert winds are calling your name, partner. Saddle up and enjoy the ride.
