The music of the Hobonauts has distinctive influences spanning from the lyrics of Morrissey to the catchy hooks of 60s pop. The songs are inspired by John Lennon as much as they are inspired by Isaac Asimov. 

 John Bis and Ahmed Mahmoud, the founding members of the band probably came close to meeting many times over the years but actually never came face to face until 2011. Both being Jersey City musicians, one would think they would have crossed paths at some point in the past. They played the same venues , even knew some of the same people but fate wouldn't bring them together until many years into their careers. 

 Ahmed, a seasoned pro whose experiences range from recording with Jerry Harrison (guitarist, keyboardist for the "Talking Heads") and Eric Thorngren (engineer for Robert Palmer, "Eurythmics" and Bob Marley) to being signed by Epic Records with the band, "Bamboo Shoots". He has also toured the world and landed a performance on Late Night With Conan O'Brien.

 Singer/songwriter, John, has studied voice with world renown vocal teacher, Carlo Menotti and has sung the National Anthem for the New Jersey Devils and New York Theatre Sports. With his pop/punk band, "Blendre" he has recorded 2 albums, played at the "New York City Marathon", the "911 Concert at Battery Park" and has toured the United States playing concerts and shows at skate festivals. 

 The Hobonauts are a prolific group always working in the 
 studio, on their next thing...
