Creatures in the Dirt

Released in advance of Valentine's day, "Worth It" is a kitschy, trippy, funny love song about a partner who ain't perfect... but is dope a.f. anyways. It’s a love song that has no need for love goggles.

Worth It

Brooklyn-based duo The Hogstad Brothers released their lead single Spinning Round off of their upcoming album Creatures in the Dirt. This funky, genre-blurring song tells the story of a psychedelic explorer descending back down from the heights of spiritual ecstasy and grappling with what, if anything, has changed within him, as the light fades and his shadows grow back. It carries a universal message of healing, hope, and empathy for ourselves and each other as we struggle. We’re all just “creatures in the dirt, each making their own way in this world, that just keeps spinning round.” The unique texture was built with electric bass, guitars, pandeiro (a Brazilian percussion instrument), agogo bells, handclaps, mellotron, and vocal harmonies.
