Honey Tree Band came to light in April of 2011 when Brett Magnus, Andrew Mohney, and Jay Hayes collaborated sharing one ideal: bringing forth a new sound to the River Region as well as the South. With the addition of M.C. Jones and Daniel Strickland, in the fall of that same year, new sounds and flavors began to take root in to forming today's Honey Tree. Each musician adds his or her own techniques allowing for diversity even while playing together. SInce then HTB has performed at a variety of venues around the Southeast including the 2012 Red Clay Revival Festival (other acts included Col. Bruce Hampton and various members of Railroad Earth). Needless to say, this band has come a very long way since its creation, but strives every day to become better and better in order to create something fresh and expressive.
