Matchstick Men is the first track from Method of the Matchstick Men, the long awaited debut album from Rutherglen’s hirsute and harmonious, 7-piece Harry & the Hendersons. The Hendersons have come on a long way since their Electric Honey released self-titled debut EP, building on their roots folk-pop stylings and signature Henderson harmony and honing a more mature sound completely of their own. With each member drawing from disparate influences and talent. Formed in a dream Matchstick Mens ethereal opening harmonies put one in mind of Crosby, Stills and Nash or, for a more modern comparison, Fleet Foxes. As the song appears to draw towards a close , Fleet Foxes and CSN are peeled back to reveal a grittier more upbeat funk outro, reminiscent of the late 70's.

The Hoojamamas are a 7 piece band of songwriters from Glasgow, Scotland. The band are heavily focused on songwriting, and while displaying both a lyrical and melodic emphasis, have a tendency to lean towards vocal harmony. Emulating the gentle and often heavier sounds of the late 60s/70s era, the band are a unique combination of collectivism and individualism that shines through in every performance. Blending psychedelic introspection and outward facing observations the band, in their music, try to capture and outline the essence of the human experience. The band have just released their debut album, Method of the Matchstick Men, and seem set on a path to deliver more and more as they progress.
