I have collected a whole lot of music from the early 90's to the early 00's. The majority of this music, as far as I know, has not seen the light of day and before my tapes disintegrate I finally dedicated some time to digitally transfer all of these gems in order to share them with everyone. When I was younger I was obsessed with the sound of the LA underground Hip Hop scene and I dubbed over 350+ cassettes from very talented, brilliant, original, and creative beings. Please keep in mind all of this music is from a time where music could not be downloaded. The music traveled from hand to hand, cassette to cassette, and when making copies from a copy there will of course be loss in quality, this is known as Analog Hiss. So yes the quality is not great but I thought it was more important to share an amazing song with not so good quality than to have it lost forever. Also, when dubbing tapes lots of times there were no titles so I made up titles for some songs. If you come across an error please inform me & I'll make the proper changes.

Unsung could easily be one way to describe the very special guest for our show's 80th episode. Los Angeles native son, master-emcee, ASR-10 pro-producer Eligh generously sat with us out in Van Nuys as we delved deep into his story & catalog (focusing primarily on his extensive solo catalog). From as young as age 15, Eligh's rapp was a gripping, vivid double entendre, steamed in reference, innuendo and triple-time insanity. With a distinctive ability rap couplets on couplets while sounding perfectly articulate. We try and crack that nugget. As a latch-key kid with innate skill who would create some of the late 90's 'West Coast Underground' era's more distinctive yet lowkey works ('The March', 'Everyday', '1998', 'Makeshift Message', 'Nightlife', etc etc)  all whilst couch surfing. The conversation is more an account of the journey leading to present day - you'll hear it. Chris 'Free The Robots' Alfaro created this rich vinyl mix about a week ago, that is a week before when I am uploading this, which is around Midnight between May 31 into June 1st 2020. From the get go you too may be asking just like the mix how you can't understand why the world world is pulling you, me, and everyone .. down. Take this and vibe, if there was a way to turn your off phone for a hour and still listen to this, I'd certainly suggest that. Go screenless. Get a blank page and get to work. Stare out into the sky alone on a roof, in a field, in an alley, towards water, towards something where you see no other human beings. Or run and lift, till you can't do no more push-ups. Smoke a huge blunt and pull the covers so far over your head the rest of the world will never be able to find you. But I can hopefully attempt to assure you that by the end of FTR's mix, you may have earned some new spectre of hope. Than apply that to helping someone, multiple that time and time again, while listening to this, and we just might some small semblance of progress as human kind.
