Way of the Wolf

The Church fabricated stories of a large beast with flaming eyes that would haunt the landscapes and deal instant death to anyone who happened to look upon it. The Church had no understanding of the science behind the plague and believed that humanity had been condemned by God to suffer for their sins. As a result they put the fear of God's wrath into the minds of the people, believing that The Bearer would come to collect their souls.

The Bearer

Was the plague punishment handed out by God? The Church were convinced that the disease was spread via a simple glance. Stating that the 'aerial spirit' would escape from the eyes of the sick and infect the nearest healthy host. Humanity was cursed and God was condemning them to Hell.

Plague Herald

When the great plague reached London is 1665-66 it killed an estimated 100,000 people. King Charles II of England decided to leave the city and moved on to safer pastures. The poor were left to fend for themselves, increasingly alarmed by the contagion it was inevitable that some would attempt to escape the confines of the city. The King stationed guards at the major exits of the city and prevented a mass exodus of the city. For a short time people were allowed to escape if they possessed a bill of good health but this document was hard to come by as the contagion started to take hold. The people of London were forced back to their homes to live with the effects of the plague.
