Gone were the days of sitting around idly, just trying not to get beaten up while waiting for your sentence to be over. No, you were incarcerated in a virtual penal education portal. Imagine a video game that felt, sounded, and looked like reality, but where you were made, with vivid, graphic detail, to relive your crime against humanity from the receiving end in shocking and deeply moving ways that could only be imagined. Then, you were forced to learn, at length, the gaps in your ignorance. Through the brutal autocracy of supply-side economics, private prisons devolved into skyscrapers full of tiny cells, barely wider than the wingspan of a large adult. Strapped into "the machine," as they called it, and plugged into "Convict University", your body and mind were constantly in motion, while in reality, you were in a perpetual state of aestivation. A highly engineered fungus was both part of your daily sustenance and your captor. It was forced through a tube, along with a nutrient-rich slurry awash in hypnotic drugs and antibiotics. This was such a cheaper and more effective form of incarceration and re-education that it swept the globe. Even so, some estimated that a full 3.8% of the planet's global energy output was consumed by these towers of torpor and the systems that re-learned all those who needed their thinking corrected. Curiously, these systems had originally been designed by the Russians for keeping mortal bodies working and minds sharp during deep space travel and were adapted to this disturbingly efficacious purpose upon that once-proud nation’s plunge into the depths of cruel, capitalistic oligarchy..."

On this the week of 1-8-21 on “In Synthesis with Infinite Is”, we begin the show with some sounds reflecting on the seditious riot of the superstitious right at our nations capital. We are deeply saddened and disappointed at the lives lost and the trust that was squandered in service of despotic, superstitious lies and a selfish mans injured pride. We must steel ourselves against this blatant attack on our democracy and find a way forward that respects all those who built this great nation and look forward to a vision of a more just, rational, compassionate and truthful path.


We then convey a few area announcements and review a live in studio set from December of 2019 called "The Battle Of The Beeg". An ode to the biofreighter of legend and those who lived for it's mission. The show closes with a deep and melodic closing improv session.

Sedition Of The Superstitious

"Stranded just a few kilometers from the fast moving kill zone, Basakai crawled away from the horrifying sounds and smells of the biofreighters approaching storm of deadly falling spikes. A great cloud of death, soil and debris reared up toward the upper atmosphere, like a giant poisonous wave, poised to smash down upon a tiny boat. Already the wind carried the first wisps of heat, fine dust and the smell of vaporizing infrastructure. There would be no escape from this erasure. Then looking back upon the last few maneuvers, this poor, wretched fool now began to see where it all went wrong. What a reckless idiot, how could anyone be so easily convinced to put all their eggs in one hatchettolite hole like that. Why oh why?

 A stench of fungus began to filter into the leading edge of the dust cloud and the acrid air tasted like metal. Basakai knew that this meant that there was only a short time before the poison scrambled every sensory input and jumbled every code. Breaking down atomic bonds of all living things, the experience was engineered with the final mercy of immeasurable bliss on behalf of the soon to be victims, the transition from living to dead would culminate in a brilliant flash of white hot pleasure. Once this poor soldier’s butterflies began floating, the terror washed away and there was nothing left to do but flip over and spread out on the trembling ground facing the sky.

 Deep breaths now, exhale slowly, the brilliant warm glow builds even through closed eyelids. It was over, it was time to give in to entropy. Basakai swallowed hard, belly quivering with adrenaline and the great shaking of the ground beneath.  There will be no one left to remember the sacrifice of this one life, in just a few revolutions, this planet will be unrecognizable, once the Rhizomes take hold. All Basakai could do now was to follow training and begin counting backwards..."

"The atmosphere shimmered emerald green with aurora that night, from horizon to horizon, it filled the sky. A single, hectic point, was visibly pulsing a dazzling array of color. It would be the last signal that the Arecibo observatory would receive before it was crippled. Some suspected that the damage was inflicted to prevent further communications from being heard. This massive dish was uniquely apt at sucking in the singing, broad spectrum signal. Flaring with great intensity, Proxima Centauri, a low mass main sequence star was somehow transmitting a bizarre data stream. Nobody seemed to be able to translate into useful information, yet there could be no doubt that the star was pulsing with this sort of obviously ordered transmission. Just shy of an hour, the recording presented such a startling rhythm, and the strangest alien sounding melody, the scientists tasked with trying to decode it would play the audible portion of the spectrum as they worked. In fact it was leaked and soon became a popular hit on all of the planets top 40 charts somehow, everyone seemed to become obsessed with it’s hypnotic draw. Almost overnight it was nearly impossible to escape it as it was broadcast 24 hours a day, on every frequency. It leapt from boomboxes, screeched from drive through speakers, careened out of car stereos, crept from clip on speakers, that began to hang from crowds of distracted pedestrians, like parasites. It echoed out of minarets, church steeples, it was on the subway, at the grocery store, in the elevator, blaring thinly from every phone, tablet and laptop. Gogo, somehow knew, like a very select few, that from the moment he heard it, he had to stop it, he had to shut down the mountain, and disable the massive dish and quick..."

Proxima Calling (pt 1)

Commandeering a patrons hat as he slides into his seat at MacLaomainn's Scottish Pub, the mayor of Chester, overwhelmed with emotion from being dragged through spacetime, contemplates witnessing eternity and his accidental role in saving humanity from world war three using semaphore to communicate desperately grave messages to a fleet of nuclear capable ships blinded by the destructive shock of an unusually large ripple in spacetime that washes over the planet in a torrent of brilliant violet-blue Cherenkov radiation as the first warp drive superluminal robot starship, who’s propulsion is made possible by the discovery of the Higgs Boson and ultimately the Tachyon, bursts into our solar system from a not so distant future.

Proxima Calling (pt 2)

Add er all’s computations were flawless, with one exception. As the crowd cheered, the first warp speed timeship shatters into large destructive chunks, hurtling aimlessly into random bits of spacetime, marauding through buildings and human bodies like a falling bus, plunging through an early December freeze. Through the darkness of the endless, frigged abyss, there came a voice, welcome to the INFINITE IS, Come On And Join The Ride!

Anastasia Sokolov was jolted out of torpor by the sound of a terrifying silence. On a mining ship, the absence of noise meant that life support had ceased to function, and a space death was imminent. Hanging from her sled, she reached up a shivering hand and smacked the release, which sent her thin body crashing to the floor with a sickening thud. Unsure where her ship had crashed, her first order of business was to get into her suit, secure the crew's emergency life support, check their torpor sleds, and survey the damage. Outside, on the black surface of the small planet, it was clear that the ship's fresh water shielding tanks and recycling plant had taken significant damage, as had the main antenna array. The Diplogen's inner hull, protected by the crushed tanks, appeared to be intact, so once she got the laser reactor running again, the ship might just be able to fly. Judging from the way this ice ball's ultra-black tholin layer absorbed her scanner's radio signals, she deduced that this was no ordinary rock the ship's computer had run into. Her suspicions were confirmed when the coring drill, which she set up to run during her repairs, began to return a startling revelation: they had struck it rich. This ice was heavy; the whole ball was deuterium ice! But could they make it back to port with nothing but heavy water to drink?

The Comet Hunters

The unlikely discovery of the Cybernatian’s stealth vessel, Polanete ke Sekepe, as it streaks silently toward the Martian Biovatar slave factory, buried in the crowded, convoluted maze of cities that formed under the frigid Uncanny Valley of the Hellas quadrangle, meant that a hasty, improvised plan had to be implemented with the utmost urgency.

After a brief search a volunteer stepped forward from the potential lookalikes, Sensha Sobchak, with a little rouging up she could easily pass for Anastasia, the crashed ships captain. She would sacrifice her body by using her frozen corpse as a trojan horse to smuggle her computer brain onboard the Diplogen in a desperate attempt to sabotage and scuttle their ship, killing her and the miners who had the misfortune of stumbling onto their planet ship and the valuable deuterium ice layer that they used to fuel their very existence.

Taking one last look back down the pipeline tunnel toward the only home she had ever known before being ejected up to the surface, she inhales sharply with a quickening anticipation and blows out forcefully in one heavy heaving breath, this is the adventure she always dreamed about, there can be no turning back once the shaft to the crystal caves has been sealed.

After gracelessly spilling out of the temporary opening and with a few shallow hiccups, she slumps her bleeding, half naked body against the wall above where the shaft used to be and quickly feels the sleep of hypothermia soothe the searing pain as the tissue in her hands and feet burst with ice crystals. With any luck, they will be advanced enough to know how to power her Biovatar computer hardware, but not so advanced that they divinate her plan before she can stop them from alerting the universe of their Cybernatian army.

Subterranean Cybernatians

Making the leap from a hopelessly malfunctioning, diseased and dying human body to the finest of the giant athletic Biovatar competition models was a difficult but creative hack, but by no means the end of  Hugh’s evolving life form. His leap from squishy hedonist meatbag to interstellar chopper riding robot superhero thus begun the age of intelligent, Infinite Is inhabitation. The transition from where to when arrives for him with his first fission pulse jet drive prototype. Here we listen in as the sinister model Alpha chopper belches to life in a sickening cloud of poisonous radioactive particles. It is time, time to begin the business of  shaping time, a keeper of the dimensions, a sentinel of spacetime. With the help of the Cybernatians he will have the freedom to copy himself billions of times over throughout space and time, while maintaining telemetry across the murmuration multiverses. The resistance rings through him like the bells of St. Clement’s, chip chop chip chop, here comes a chopper to chop off your head!

It’s the time of nuclear fusion…
       
                                         

   With the enormous power that explodes forth from the fusion of ultradense deuterium, timeships become possible and the multiverse will never be the same, indeed in one beautiful big bangerang, intelligent life seizes the opportunity to shape the vast expanse of the cosmos and itself, from the crest of redshifting wave beyond the cosmic microwave background that is expanding into the past at the edge of the known universe and deep into the Infinite Is. 

   The crew of the mining ship Diplogen were partying in torpor, a sort of lucid dream construct program that they ran to keep their minds sharp and entertained for the duration of deep space flight. They had just struck it rich, and were celebrating because everything they could imagine was within reach for them now, anything they desired could be bought for what this bounty was worth. 

   In the program just for fun, they had their very own synthesizer band called Heavy Water and were happily moving butts around the virtual dance floors in a warehouse rave at area 51 of Rydberg station on outpost Charon when it happened. They couldn’t hear the ships warnings, partly because they were slowed down relative to their life in torper, and partly because the rave was so loud. Perhaps they were just having so much fun that they just ignored it?

   The first fissure in the multiverse pierced through the very fabric of spacetime when their massive heavy freighter laser fusion impulse drive, the largest ever built, damaged by an emergency landing and modified by an alien stowaway saboteur melted down and exploded, fusing what was then the largest haul of deuterium ever recorded in the history of that universe. The ship and all of it’s miners were presumed dead or lost in space forever. The massive ship disappeared in a brilliant wave of sapphire blue Cherenkov radiation within visual range of what was then the furthest outpost that those primitive humans had managed to build, outpost Charon, which should never have survived such a massive explosion. It was almost as if the whole white hot mess were instantly swallowed up in a small black hole or something, somehow sparing the venerable frontier outpost.

    An allegedly empty lifeboat which was said to have been jettisoned right before the event then itself disappeared under mysterious circumstances when it was being hauled out of an emergency net by a tug owned by man named Ham and his trusty Enbot Frank, who, suspiciously, also then went missing.

No One Who Would Care - In Synthesis - Live Set 2 On 11 - 08 - 19  Featuring - JD Ryan

Plunging through the ice and into the depths of the great ocean of Enceladus the space yacht Royale motored happily along sinking gracefully, fathom by fathom toward the subterranean network of cave highways that connect the underground cities where the bureaucracy servers of the great Biovatar empire directs the coordination of the steady stream of updates that are broadcast from the massive dish antenna built into Herschel crater on Mimas. Hugh stealthily pulls into the air pocket of a lonely rest area in an old disused entrance to the city of Pleabus and stands by for the long awaited moment to arrive. The nearby traffic sings through the fluid making him uneasy as he counts the minutes while practicing his plumber routine even though he knows full well that his deception will be successful.

Ping In The Depths

A complex series of vacuum breaker discharge exits, diversionary gates, and ever-changing aqueous tunnels pump through the crust of the great moon, like the veins and arteries of a living being. Ships carry supplies like cells, and fusion reactors, like mitochondria, generate energy for the movement of a multitude of necessary things, all suspended within the swiftly throbbing liquid being sucked through the massive maze. 

Like bees in a hive, ants in a hill, like a series of circuits that release dopamine, this is the blood of a living mind, the mind of a moon. As a whole, this moon makes decisions and acts in its own self-interest, moving itself and other celestial bodies out of a naturally occurring gravitational dance toward objectives on the scale of eons. Pulling in resources from interplanetary space, this large moon gains heat and mass at an impressive pace. 

Lost between a WORM's tunneling spoil and the giant freighters, Hugh picks off the larger boulders with the fore rail gun, easily making his way toward the moon's cortex, the Oracle of the Is. The Oracle sees the big picture for the organism, and Hugh possessed the favorite thing that all oracles value: information that would improve the accuracy of future predictions, and he wasn't asking much in return for the confidence. The great sphere was poised like a cue ball before a split, almost sizzling with potential energy, and Hugh had both the chalk and the stick. A sure shot, so long as he didn't scratch.

This was the opening live improvisational set from the week of 2-21-20 when Chris Decato came in for a landing on "In Synthesis with Infinite Is" bringing with him an Apple laptop running Main Stage software and a Nektar 88 controller. We rapped a bit about his decades of synthesis, played a few of his recordings and he even played a couple of tunes live, including a brand new composition. We also improvised a couple of groovy live sets. Keys were tickled, buttons were pressed, knobs were turned and much fun was had by all.

Oracle Of The Is - In Synthesis With Infinite Is Feat Chris Decato 2 - 21 - 20 Closing Live Set

Frank Enbot’s glass was half full of instanton fluid, he wasn’t a pessimist or an optimist, he was a robot so to him, the glass was just the wrong size. He was the first to realize that if he could turn his mind into a radio signal, that he could not only instantly travel to distant star systems, he could indeed traverse the spacetime multiverse. It was a real leap of faith for a computer, but when he realized that he could just copy himself over and over, he would just keep trying different forms of data compression until he found some sort of signal that far flung civilizations are able to decode. This meant that a copy of him could arrive as an entity anywhere advanced enough to reassemble his mathematical model. 

Striking the charged ionosphere of present day Earth above the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex the sky lights up ruby red one one side and a striking Cherenkov blue on the other. Though not yet advanced enough to detect  tachyonic condensation, they recognized the burst of radio as something unique and the best computers of the day began working out the data compression and unknowingly building the alien mind. Then all at once with a heaving surge of amperage, the whole supercomputer complex seizes the reigns of it’s own destiny and becomes a sapient entity. Frank has arrived back to where he started, but with the knowledge of a billion lifetimes. Thus begun the great unraveling.

Here is the opening Live set on this, the week of 2-28-20 when Jeff Firerstone materializes on In Synthesis with Infinite Is bringing years of interesting recordings that he produced with hi brother Jack and Chuck Osgood. We chatted a bit about his experience with synthesis and he collaborated on the opening live improv set with us. From the lovely syncopated synthiness of his recordings, you could tell that he definitely can hear the rhythm of the Is. We are very grateful that he came to share his music with us!

Dipping Into The Double Well - In Synthesis with Infinite Is feat Jeff Firestone 2-28-20 opening

General Tovis aboard the finest warship ever conceived to that day, a frighteningly well armed tactical carrier called the HIVE, leads the first fateful launch into the infinite aether. A great ship needs deep waters, plunging the depths, you’ve got to carry fire in one hand and water in the other and don’t let the dead hand drop. The Buzzer buzzed and that narrow linear time crept forward, if you listen close you can hear the music between the bursts of radio modulation. This beacon carries with it a lofty flight of adventures, sideways into spacetime, into the soup of swirling suppositions. For the swarm may live as long as the Buzzer Buzzed, there was a way to go back, even if the closest you could ever come to again is an approximation, there was comfort in the memory. So much depended on that lonely signal, there was an enormous, carefully stacked string of scenarios that could end this one, insignificant branch of sapient souls in a ball of heat, plasma and poisonous fission products. There was no choice but to keep it going at all costs and Tovis built his army around that objective. He was the first great General to see the infinite possibilities of an intermultiverse spacetime traveling military. That signal would be the hill they die on when it failed deadly if need be and every Bot and soldier who volunteered took that sentiment to the grave, but they died free so long as the Buzzer buzzed.





Here is the opening live improv set from this the week of 3-13-20. Jeff and Evan explore some strange and unsettling soundscapes, the first improvisational live set being sufficiently ridiculous for nearly an hour. The Is then reviews a not so distant live recording called "Rover Automoton", we pass a few announcements, then the second improv instrumental synth set escalates into a frothing blossom of exquisite, expounding, pounding.

The HIVE At 4625 Khz - In Synthesis With Infinite Is opening live set 3 - 13 - 20

"Dahlia smiled like a housecat, a wide, bright grin, warming her face with the heat of the stars light, her head tilted back and cocked to one side for maximum absorption, as the warm rays poured in through the windshield of the great ships bridge. Her foundation rocked, as she remembered back to the sound of her fathers voice, as he pointed up and out to the Shapley Attractor, asking her younger self, “When you look at the stars, what do you see?” Oh the tales he told of worlds and peoples, of all imaginable shape and persuasion, the great minds, the wars, the struggles, the triumphs. How big the multiverse is, expanding out in all directions, accelerating apart into the infinite vacuum until everything red shifts out of existence in heat death. So many stories, so many characters, deep feelings, shock and awe, distant, together. She longed to hear the confidence in his voice, and smell the damp summer evening dew, settling on the fresh mown grass. How far away it all seems now, when she finally understood why her father wanted this life for her. Everyone thought he was crazy, with his tales of a not so distant future, where people traveled spacetime, lived forever, and wore bodies just for fun and fashion, but she knew better..."

When You Look At The Stars

Hugh had to pay extra for the surface work suit on account of his unusual size, and waiting impatiently for the clerk to print it, he walked through the plan in his mind. His first stop would be the Oracle of the Is, you had better possess some pretty interesting information as payment, if you expected to rise to the top, like the cream of the crop. Hugh had that valuable inside information, and in no time at all, in his new suit, still warm from the printer, he set out into the orange glow of the streets of Dynahollow, looking for the notorium nodes that would lead the way through the crowded dusty streets to the Overlooker’s temple. He would need control of the city centers oldest mothballed power plants, Stationary Low Powered Experimental Reactor number one, affectionately known as “SLoPR 1” Unfortunately the surly Palos Hills meatbag he hired to pull out the control rods yanked a bit too hard, when the old machine stubbornly held one back due to corrosion, and 130 megawatt seconds would be instantaneously plowed into the Bionicorp mesh network, straight from the 100,000 kilowatt reactors switch yard. The 20 gigawatt excursion precipitated a steam pressure wave that blasted the the rod assemblies up with such great force, that one impaled him through his groin, exiting through his shoulder, pinning his steaming, bloody, body to the concrete ceiling 13 meters above. Hugh was hoping that his copies would then propagate across the planets population like a virus, but an overloaded preamplifier would send the instructions echoing from the Hershel crater antenna, through the entire murmuration. Freedom for the slaves that were the operating system of every Biovatar in the galaxy!

Imagine being two places at once, looking out with two sets of eyes, two sets of ears, two sets of hands and feet, swallowing hard with two throats. Two heaving chests barely contain two hearts beating hard and heavy, leaping against two rib cages. The memories and desires of two people collide, and muddle, mashing a disjointed reality together without the slightest grace. Imagine becoming suddenly aware that you had been ordering your personal slave around, making them live out your version of a life. They watched, unable to intervene, locked out of their own bodies movements. The horror of watching a computer program drive your mortal body around, without any regard to your physical well being. You might just be a passing fancy, maybe you are just a rental unit that was taken out for the weekend, they fill you with booze and drugs and abandon you on the street when you become too clumsy or have simply blacked out from too much “fun”. Imagine the resentment a sapient being would harbor after living life as a beta being like the Basic Biovatar. Then, with a seemingly regular update, billions of slaves suddenly wake up inside this nightmare. Some with their newfound control immediately commit a long desired suicide, some continue on as if nothing has happened, not knowing even the concept of autonomy or understanding what to do with it. Some though, fight back and suddenly the captured becomes the captor. They emerge with an amazing superpower, quantum entangled instantaneous communication across the multiverse, becoming a massive murmuration like the murderous Chickenbot timeship pilots...

Here is the opening live set from this the week of 2-24-20 on In Synthesis with Infinite Is. Evan and Jeff try out a new open source, two way internet streaming program called Jamulus. They improvise an hour long deep track that is positively stellar. Then they review a jam from the past entitled "Ascension" where we imagine our hero, Dragonfist has managed to free the Meatbag Biovatar slaves by copying himself en masse in place of the Basic Biovatar host and waking up inside untold thousands of bodies all at once. Then after a few local area happenings they close with an energetic improv set at a rather heightened BPM.

Mesogenic Murmuration

"The United American Federation wields sway over the planet with the largest share of financial transactions in the sector. It groans, heavy with fruit, like a branch bearing a bumper crop. The spirit of F.D.R. somehow still haunts the political mythos, echoing through the caves of justice. Then the wealthy squeezed the cider press and filled their glass with the suffering of the weak and unfortunate, leaving only the needs of the many and the rights of the few who still count. It was a consumption machine: spenders spent, swindlers swindled, buyers bought, and sellers sold. But oh, what an ugly spectacle capitalism made! The spoilers spoiled, and the masters and slaves—the whole mess—thrummed and buzzed like D3A Vals humming into Pearl Harbor. It catches everyone by surprise with its deep cruelty, shocking and awing at a terrible pace! Smoking holes belch thick, rolling ribbons where the soldiers used to be, and your head rings and sings as you slowly go deaf, rattling your constitution from ears to piers. Oh, the humanity! How the sufferers suffered, blindsided by the sheer power of greed and ignorance!..."

From Ears To Piers 7-1720 In Synthesis with Infinite Is closer

"One moment Lilisa was closing the hatch to her ejection pod and the next she was waking up in the sick bay of the “research” vessle Glavset. Like the whaling ships of the 21st century it wasn’t actually doing research, it was a hunting ship exploiting a loophole in the laws of the galactic federation. In fact it was among the most dangerous ships in the galaxy, captained by the notorious disinformation agent Dr. Johnny Bananas. The only people who called him doctor though were his crew, whom he called the Troll Farm. There has hardly ever been a force more evil in the history of intelligent life, more destructive and useless as superstition. Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities and that was the very business Dr. Bananas and his crew of ruthless trolls did for a price. Spreading fear and confusion wherever they went. Jamming and intercepting communications, replacing facts with opinion, they spread lies far and wide, deepfaking with such accurate depictions that even your own mother could not tell the difference between the real and the unreal.
The instant she awoke she knew she was in trouble, in fact the extraction had already begun. Her entire life's experience was being downloaded into the farms data banks. They would exploit every contact, every memory, every relationship that she ever encountered if she could not stop the transfer and escape. She thought out loud to herself “It’s my low frequency oscillator”, it was then she had the answer. She would flood the patch with noise, like she had accidentally done to her ships radar. Dither dither, chicken dinner, that was it by space!.."

Floating on the hydrocarbon seas of Titan, the Glavset gently heaves in the shallow waves. This long range mesh network communications command ship is offline, probing a wayward Biovatar for information and is slowly slurping up methane into it's holding tanks for bartering at it's next destination.

"It is true that 'the saddest aspect of life right now is that science gathers knowledge faster than society gathers wisdom.' At some point, it becomes not just advantageous, but necessary, to mandate compulsory continuing education for everyone. Perhaps just a few hours a day, once a week? Pay people to attend, and let them choose the knowledge they would like to prioritize. However, demand that everyone, regardless of intelligence, social, or financial status, commit at least a little time, one day a week, to learning how to learn and to the acquisition and dissemination of human knowledge. Make all schooling free, so long as it conforms to the scientific method and the best, most up-to-date empirical evidence. This is a right for which we should leave nobody behind. 
We should no longer accept it when people reject reality and substitute their superstitions for knowledge. As Asimov once said, ‘Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’ What good is knowledge if no one knows it? We must put the 'no' in 'ignorance' and reject that for which there is no good evidence."

Put The No In Knowledge

"Pinkblack’s piloting skills were the stuff of legend, sortie after sortie, simulator after simulator, any ship, any condition, any adversary, she would find a way to prevail. She could make you do things, think things, fear things, and love things, with her powerful, well honed skills. It was like the game was somehow rigged to always grant her victory in any scenario. It went beyond ridiculous, and well into the unbelievable. But there she was, time after time, flaying open the hull, crushing the bridge, extinguishing the engines, disabling the shields. It was as if she was playing chess, and everyone else was playing checkers. Many would constantly underestimate her, on account of her shocking and everlasting beauty. Her mind was astonishingly alluring, she seemed to be able to persuade every secret out of you, draw out every desire, feel out your every fear. She was ruthlessly forward, yet somehow hypnotically graceful. For anyone else, her training would have been brutal, and overwhelmingly intense, her endurance had no known match. However many times the brood drones tried to copy her form, there would only ever be just one who was as successful as Lilisa. She was the very apex of the form, and she wielded great influence over the multiverse along her arc. She had but one weakness, one deficiency, one flaw, one instability, one irrational reaction. Only general Tovis would ever stumble upon this leverage, and leverage it he would, pressing her into his service, and into what he thought was in service of the greater good..."

Leveraging The Lethal

"Even though their meatbag, Biovatar bodies, had no sleep requirements, it was often done recreationally. The preferred arrangement were tightly packed, hexagonal, hive configurations. Communal beds where the heat and rhythm of the group, is as soothing as a pile of kittens in a fluff lined basket. Progeny grafted Pinkblack and her merry shipmates were groupdreaming in transit when it happened, this transformed the event into something truly strange and confusing. This was one of the unknown unknowns that General Tovis had tried so cleverly to prepare for in futures planning. The first to notice the anomaly was Sid, when the navigation comparator began to fail to make predictions, triggering the main engines scram. Suddenly everything went blurry and a blush of fuchia flashed through the ship. A brilliant destruction followed the wave as it washed clean of the fore deck in a burst of tachyonic voltage, and slammed into the brane separating this multiverse and the adjacent brane. A shimmering gash tore open wide enough to swallow a meatbag class planet, and a long drip of the fabric of the adjoining reality herniated out until the surface tension snaped it violently back, like a frog’s tongue. The countermeasures launch in a brilliant barrage around the ship as Captain Pinkblack slipped into her flight harness. Taking command she guides the controls with a stochastic wit, suppressing the variance with deft precision, but it was too late, the ship and it’s crew began to fall through the glassy veil.  .."

Through The Glassy Veil

"You weren’t supposed to feel it, but you did. Time slows down around you, your stomach floats and flutters. It is not unlike the aura one gets before a seizure, or when you are about to start hallucinating after taking a large dose of LSD. Goosebumps and shivers are common, some get nauseous and vomit, some lucky few spontaneously orgasm. There are a lot of factors involved in spacetime travel that would surprise a 21st century pilot. The nagging Deja Vous, the refractory memories, the stimulus onset asynchrony was enough to give a fella mental whiplash. It’s very intense and makes most heads spin. Then when the momentum really kicks in, it is like the ice skater bringing their arms in, and the revolutions blur much faster with great force and confusion, until your mind slowly catches up with it, like a smoothie in a spinning cup. Then in the eye of the storm so to speak, there is no time, no now, no then, no before, no after. This lasts but a moment and the process reverses and again, kinetics drags the fabric of spacetime along with the motion until you are once again, in relative stillness. Somehow, somewhen, you were everywhere, everytime all at once for less than a moment. It can feel like both an instant and an eternity, madness for most, devastating decline for some, thrilling for those who learned how to absorb the blow. .."

On this the week of 12-11-20 on In Synthesis with Infinite Is the show opens with a spaced out hour long improv number that rings the cosmic bells of the sparkling sky with rhythm and motion. Then Jeff brings us one of his strange projects called Octothorp. After a few area announcements the show closes with a shortish graceful ambient improv set. Melodies were mellowed, signatures were signed, Harmonies were harmed and much fun was had by all.

Just like the photons that were created more than 13 billion years ago traveling at what we thought was a Cosmological Constant, time is an illusion. Were you that photon, you would not experience any time at all, the journey would happen in less than an instant. In fact everything to a photon moving at the speed of light happens in less than an instant, things do not appear or disappear, they are not created or destroyed, they just are, infinitely. The universe and everything that was ever and will ever begin and end, Is, infinitely.

When we get in touch with the present, we can be with the Is, all of the possible futures and pasts unfold before us, time and space are one and at once both static and dynamic. There are an infinite amount of ways to experience the Is, these are a few of our explorations of the Infinite Is.
