This a song written by my grandson Josh Cullen. Josh is playing the acoustic guitar. I added the drums, bass and lead guitar to his tune.  Songs recorded in my studio a few years back. We had a great time playing and recording this song.

*UPDATE*  The Innocence of Old have gone back into the studio. We have added 2 new band members to the group. Azur Junicic, a super talented guitar player from Bosina. Kris Ruston as our new drummer and Keyboard player. Kris is a multi talented musician. He also plays: guitar, bongos, and many other instruments. To top it off he also has his own recording studio, is an engineer and producer. We have also asked our wonderful friend Annah Elizabeth to join us as a vocalist. June 1st, 2023
It all started in Yellowknife, NT Canada. Wayne formed a band in 1965 called "Stained Glass Illusions" and went on to play in many other bands over the years. In 1981, Wayne Bertrand and Lawrence Carr stared a group called "Shadowfax". That band stayed together for a couple of years, when the members went their separate ways. It was about a year later when all of the former members of "Shadowfax" met at a party, when it was decided that the band should reform. It was at this point that James Milligen joined the group, as the Sax & Keyboard player, now called "The Bad Boys". The band stayed together for about a year and again, all went their separate ways. Wayne and James then joined forces and help create a band called "The Komatiks". Wayne left the band in 1988. In 2011 Wayne and James reconnected and started jamming the music written by Wayne and in April 2012 Lawrence, the vocalist in "Shadowfax" and "The Bad Boys", reconnected with them and would meet in Wayne's home studio, located in Calgary, AB Canada. Lawrence writes the Lyrics for the music written by Wayne and they formed the group "The Chili Project". Wayne and Lawrence have released their 2n CD, under our new group name:  "The Innocence of Old". We have started work on our next CD, which we had hoped to release in 2021, but due to this Covid virus, we had to stop working together until this virus is under control. 
Our music is not easy to categorize. When asked what is our style of music, I tell people that it's a throwback mixture of the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s, mixed up with some of today's music. I write the music as a feeling, whatever feels good and sounds good to my ear. Some people say that we have Pink Floyd feel, other say we have a Eagles touch in our music. Many people feel that Lawrence has a Rod Stewart flavor to his voice. Since there is a fair amount of sax, the music leans towards a soulful jazzy feel. It seems that each person that hears our songs has their own take on our style of music - which is fine with us, as long as the person that listens to the songs has a good connection to it. Lawrence writes his lyrics from the heart and personal experiences in his life. He has a raspy growl to his voice which lends itself to a lot of heartfelt, soulful feeling in his singing. We try to write songs that will be able to encapsulate an idea or an emotion and make it so that when somebody listens to it, no matter what their age or what language they speak, they feel the music.
