Allan’s self described nostalgia-Australiana rock is like that old fibro house on your street; slightly dated, strangely nostalgic and quintessentially Australian.

Inspiration comes in many forms. For some they find it in an object, for others it comes from a moment in time, but for Sydney’s Allan Smithy it’s all about the place. Hailing from the inner city, Allan Smithy sings about what he knows; the streets, the suburbs, and what it is like being young, poor, and trying to live in Sydney.

Drawing heavily from the 80’s Australian hay day, Allan Smithy’s ‘Four Letter Reason’ is a wash of chorus and delay. Bathing in a sea of nostalgia, the track is like going through a stack of old polaroids, a reminder of growing up in suburban Sydney, and tells the story of what it’s like to watch everyone around you grow up, search for something more and leave. 

‘Four Letter Reason’ is taken from Allan Smithy’s upcoming EP ‘I See A Palm Tree’, that’s slated for release in the upcoming months.
