“An axiom is a self-evident truth or a foundational statement accepted as true without proof,” said Jim O’Ferrell, guitar and vocals. “I wanted to write a song about the never ending barrage of conflicting ‘truths’ shouted at us from every direction every day, all competing for our attention, all claiming the righteousness of their own truth, all telling us what we’re supposed to think.”

A steamy summer night. He sits by the open window of his apartment looking at the streetlamp mirage in the alley below. He thinks about the woman he recklessly fell in love with, who left him here with nothing but a bottle, alone in the city. A soulful, bluesy kind of song.

Glory Never Comes is a rock song from any one of the 38,000 homeless veterans who sleep on America's streets every night. Away from the parades, medals and accolades, this song reveals the veterans who live in the shadows. From a starting blend of acoustic guitar chords and crisp vocals punctuated with dirty electric guitar swipes, Glory Never Comes unapologetically charges forward with a slick rock groove that draws from all over the rock sub genres.

A resonant acoustic guitar and subtle verse begin this lament of lost love, quickly followed by ethereal lead guitar textures and vocal harmonies. The bridge breaks off into a powerful lead guitar riff that takes you on a trip through hard rock territory. It finishes with huge guitar tones and big vocal layers. Turn Around tells the story of a man's plea for one last chance as his true love turns to leave him forever.

My Love Is Yours is a rock and roll love song. It starts right up with a slap in the face. Sizzling lead guitar tones and dirty riffs combine with sublime vocals and a bass-drum rhythm that sprints from the first note and never lets up. A love song in a leather jacket.

A toe-tapping rock & roll song with funk guitar licks, soulful vocals, and hooks everywhere. The lead guitar knows exactly where and when to take over and the dynamic vocal harmonies at the end make you want to play it all over again. I Know Better is a used-to-be love song with the right attitude.

Inspired by the protests and police confrontations in Richmond, Virginia during the summer of 2020, Criminal is sung from the ground level, from a marcher’s point of view amidst the noise and smoke of protest and civil unrest. 

A thoughtful blend of blues rhythms, hard rock guitar, and a soulful vocal melody drive Criminal skillfully over the sonic landscape and transport the listener onto the gritty streets among the chaos.

Broken Heart is a tale about the malevolent nature of crushed love and how we often internalize our heartache. It begins with a teasing drum beat, a jangly guitar rhythm, and some tactical swipes from a glassy Les Paul. Fans will like the smooth rock and roll groove, sizzling instrumental bridge, and vocal harmonies touched with just enough melancholy to feel personal and relatable.

The J.O.B. from Richmond, Virginia is a band on a mission to touch the lives of everyday people with their music. Founders, Jim O’Ferrell (singer-guitarist) and Jason Crawford (lead guitarist), officially started the group in 2008 to record and perform songs that O’Ferrell had composed during his recent deployments to the war in Iraq. Jim had a trove of experiences just waiting to be turned into songs, so The J.O.B. recorded their first full length record, Back to the World, an album of songs about a soldier's life at war. From there, the band's songwriting took off in a whirlwind of directions with music and lyrics reflecting the world they experienced around them, developing The J.O.B. into the dynamic alternative rock band they are today.

The J.O.B. are storytellers, taking authentic human experiences and reflecting them like a mirror onto their audience. Their music is a true companion that makes people’s emotions relevant and meaningful. Every face in the crowd is an individual opportunity to form a bond.

The J.O.B.’s music credits include 6 studio albums, 3 nationally charted songs, and scores of live performances ranging from saloons to festivals. The J.O.B. has performed concerts with Davy Knowles, Coco Montoya, and other international touring artists.

Always looking for exciting new creative projects, The J.O.B. composed, arranged, and performed all of the music for the 2023 world premier musical SOUND OF THE GUNS which was the featured production for the 2023 summer season at Firehouse Theatre in Richmond, Virginia.
