Releases on a divers set of labels such as Sony Music, Ultra, Stil vor Talent, Suara, Octopus, Hed Kandi, Kitball, Click Records or Katermukke are evidence of Teenage Mutants’ versatility and impact. While an album for Stil vor Talent is in the pipeline, the boys wisely take their time with and good care of each project they embark on. In the meantime, they won’t leave you hanging, thanks brilliant EPs like their recent deep-tech journey ‘Le Voyage’ on Stil vor Talent or the giant rave anthems ‘Kratos’ (with Heerhost) and ‘Nola’ (with Sezer Uysal) on Sian’s Octopus Recordings.

In short: perfect stuff for the floor. A fact clearly reflected in Teenage Mutants’ presence in the charts of leading music platforms such as Beatport. Here, the duo scored a first big break with ‘Hanging On’, produced in collaboration with Andre Crom back in 2012: without hesitation the track went straight to #1 in the overall charts. Since then, Teenage Mutants have collaborated with an impressive collection of respected artists – Purple Disco Machine, Moonbootica, Laura Welsh, Betoko and Jonas Saalbach are just a few of the names they have shared a studio with, while remixes for Nervo feat. Kylie Minogue, Jake Shears & Nile Rogers, Autograf, Sailor & I, Third Son or Ed One further shows just how extensive their network is.

Naturally, Teenage Mutants’ endless passion for electronic music translates to their DJ-performances. Next to a former residency at La Terrrazza in Barcelona and the current night Verboten in their hometown Mainz, the guys are a regular fixture at key clubs and festivals on the underground circuit, performing multiple gigs a week all over the world. In recent years Teenage Mutants have thus travelled from Johannesburg to Moscow, Paris to Hollywood, Miami to Berlin, Rome to São Paulo or Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur. No journey is ever too far to spread the word. They are named after superheroes, after all.

A spearhead of the ‚Neo Progressive’ movement – that’s Martin Bley alias MATCHY, a leading synonym for modern deep and melodramatic techno and house. With a profound sense and a highly empathic absorption, the half of the former duo Matchy & Bott sprinkled continously sales charts and playlists with dozens of siginficant releases over the past years. A formidable amount of loyal followers, supporters and fans have been built up. For a good reason! The enormous qualitative output settled down in the release catalogues at some of the foremost labels in the electronic underground scene within 5 years, and is an evident hint that something great has grown. Alongside more than 10 contributions on the infamous Katermukke label, Martin placed an incomparable stamp with the Matchy & Bott releases on the imprints music. Following coups with a vigorous effect happened on Coyu’s Suara Music or Oliver Koletzki’s Stil vor Talent. Moreover, imposing appearances were planted on top-class labels like Moonbootique, Hive Audio, Heinz Music, Bar 25, My Favourite Freaks, 3000 Grad Rec., Lauter Unfug or Dialtone. Our labelhead Solee is back with an amazing mix for our mixtape series. With his Parquet192 release 'Life on Mars' and 'Time', Solee produced ones again two magnificent dancefloor bangers. With 'Life on Mars' he generated a deep and very atmospheric scene, with a powerful kick and a massive baseline. And with 'Time' he made a typical Solee banger, which ranges between progressive and melodic techno, and which is full of beautiful melodies with driving elements, with a high recognition value.

When we got the call up to mix a 333 sessions podcast, we were stoked!!  Since the beginning of the flow music series, it has been a go to for finding some winning mixes to get us through the Covid crisis in Victoria. Whilst it’s been a tough battle here it has allowed us to work on lots of music. Starting slow and to gradually build the podcast was always going to be how we approached it. We have always considered our style to be eclectic whilst still maintaining continuity with our flow.

The Journey Bio 

Embracing electronic music’s poignant zest, The Journey are delivering studio output supported by pioneers and humble music enthusiasts equally.

Built to keep dance-floor hearts full, the Melbourne based duo have knelt to electronic devotees on one knee, gracing stages at the iconic Rainbow Serpent Festival, Pitch Music & Arts, Subsonic and Strawberry Fields Festival, while having cemented solid tours throughout Europe in 2018 & 2019 and again in 2022.  Delivering ammunition for festival, club and afterparty, The Journey have earned themselves a place on some of the world’s finest labels such as Stil Vor Talent, Bedrock & Einmusika whilst also being remixed by some of the industries elite in Bebetta, Tim Engelhardt, PARIS, CIOZ, Re.you, Rafael Cerato and Florian Kruse, the list goes on.  The Journey have added their own flavour to a number of world class artists, remixing the likes of Super Flu, Bebetta, Betoko, Sharam Jay, Luke Chable and Quench’s 1993 anthem, ‘Dreams’.

Their remix for singer-songwriter Running Touch on ‘My Hands’ acquired a well-deserved spot on the 2019 Ministry of Sound Annual.  The Journey also attracted prodigious recognition after remixing the iconic ‘Treaty’ by Yothu Yindi resulting in them being nominated for The Age’s Music Victoria Electronic Artist of The Year alongside Dom Dolla, Client Liaison, Harvey Sutherland and KLLO.  Their original works, collaborations and remixes have amassed three ARIA Club Chart #1’s, and a handful of Beatport top 10’s in their respective genres whilst being played and supported by the biggest names in the industry.

The road ahead derives inspiration from the last year’s vibrant success - musically on some of the world’s most celebrated record labels, amidst stacking shows across the Australian summer and looking ahead will be no doubt entering new territories.
