Waiting For You

This song takes loose inspiration from one of my favorite authors Louisa May Alcott. The book that serves as a springboard for the various characters represented in my song is A Long Fatal Love Chase; this tragedy can be summarized as a retelling of Faust. 
     The main character (in this case, a young woman named Rosamond) sells her soul to the devil (a rich man named Philip Tempest) in exchange for short term success/happiness. The tragedy begins when Rosamond decides she longer wishes to involve herself with Tempest. Tempest refuses to leave her alone and follows her wherever she goes (basically a Victorian stalker), ultimately leading to her demise. 

For any literature nerds/purists, please remember - this is LOOSELY inspired. No historical accuracy is intended and I don’t claim to be entirely faithful to the characters’ personalities as depicted in the book. :P
