The greatest band in the whole wide world have got a new album. That’s right, supreme psychedelicists, The Junipers, are following up their debut LP ‘Cut Your Key’ with the wonderful, enchanting, downright POSITIVE longplayer, ‘Paint The Ground’.

Get that? A totally non-cynical, upbeat LP! How deeply unfashionable to be cheerful in the face of such unrelenting worldwide gloom.

The question is, have The Junipers pulled it off? Have they managed to top their near-perfect debut album?

With a shuffle in the line-up, there’s concern for we, the gasping fanboys, the sound could differ from the Pepperland of their opening gambit. However, within in seconds of LP opener, ‘Look Into My River’, the nagging dissipates into the ether. Fact is, The Junipers haven’t changed. Much.The perennial sunshine is still there, and once again, they’ve somehow timed their release with a bout of decent weather, meaning that, unequivocally, The Junipers need to be paid by the government to exist and constantly record, ensuring that Britain is constantly in a state of clement weather.

You may not know this, but thankfully we’re on hand to let you in on the secret – The Junipers are the greatest band in the entire world. Melding heady psychedelia, bubblegum pop and baroque rock, there’s no-one quite like them. Impossibly catchy, superbly crafted and two tonnes of fun, they’ve been hibernating for a while after a run of wondrous LPs.
Honcho Joe Wiltshire released a DIY folk-psych shed-pop masterpiece under ‘The Yellow Pegs’ and singer Robyn Gibson has been keeping himself busy with his magic Bob of the Pops releases and manning the drumstool in Portable Radio. They are once again reunited under the Junipers umbrella and all is right in the world again.
The have a new single out tomorrow called ‘Annie Almond’ (that’s July 11th if you’re reading this away from the day of publishing) and it will be available exclusively on their Bandcamp. Better news is that there’s going to be an album too at the end of August called ‘Imaginary Friends’ and we’re super excited to hear it.
The single is just as brilliant as you’d expect, filled with honey-dipped melodies and Pepperland instrumentation. Any worry that they were going to take a sharp left and begin a new drum ‘n’ bass direction is not founded. It’s beautiful, hopeful and catchy-as-hell.

The Junipers are a psychedelic pop band based in Leicester, UK. The band are Robyn Gibson (vocals), Joe Wiltshire (Guitar/Organ), Pete Gough (Guitar), Ash Selden (Bass) & Ben Marshall (Drums). 
In 2007 The Junipers signed to San Remo Records, a record label based in Wolverhampton ran by Felt guitarist Marco Thomas.

The Junipers recorded & released their debut album "Cut Your Key" in 2008. The album was self-produced & mainly recorded at The Junipers own studio in Leicester & partly at Magic Garden studios in Birmingham with Gavin Monhagon, known for his work with Kings Of Leon, The Editors & Ryan Adams. Three singles were pulled from the album, "Callooh Callay!", "Gordie Can’t Swim" & "So the Feeling Looms/Out My Pocket".
Cut Your Key received rave reviews from the likes of Uncut Magazine, The Word & Record Collector. "Callooh Callay!" Was named single of the week on BBC Radio 2 & all three singles gained airplay on Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music from dj's, Bob Harris, Steve Lamacq, Mark Radcliffe and Janice Long, among others. The band played two live sessions for Marc Riley on BBC 6 Music that year & the following year.
The band began recording their follow up to Cut Your Key in 2011.
The Junipers second album "Paint the Ground" was released on 22 February 2012, again receiving rave reviews.
"Paint the Ground" was followed by "Red Bouquet Fair" (2016), "Imaginary Friends" (2024) and an EP release in under the moniker of Euphonious Trolley, a sideline for the bands more poppy material. 
A folk inspired side project was also released as Yellow Pegs in 2021.
