"We are all born naked and the rest is drag" so says the legendary Rupaul. Keeping up that drag is a lot on the soul. Your form of drag finds its way into your interactions with people. How much of the day are you "on"? On the crisis of creativity, and keeping your inspiration alive in both life and work, there is a certain amount of emotional gymnastic routines I find myself in all the time. My good friend Dan Fishback, wrote a song that inspired me to think about how much I work on addressing my own process, how much one does because it feels safe rather than pushing them selves to where they really need to do!

I Call Places

I grew up around a lot of strong people, and people who felt strongly all the time. There were many fathers that made me write this song. The evolution of a parents love for their children is turbulent, passionate, biased and fearlessly protective. We love our children and want love themselves as much as we love them, even if we have to yell our heads off at them day and night to get them to do it. I overheard many conversations and arguments on my street growing up echoing out of buildings , over songs on the radio and city busses passing by. I would see the embraces afterwards on the stoops after the tears subsided.

Love is the most important thing to me. I know this is not reasonable, logical or sound thinking. I will do pretty much anything for people I love, and to be loved. It has and will continue to be both joyful and drama for the rest of my life, and I am totally ok with that.
