Story
The Curse of the Golden Duck
A Legend of the Walls of Ostrogski
Beneath the stones of Ostrogski Castle, where shadows glide like ancient whispers, sleeps a secret that has endured centuries. It is said that in the depths of its dungeons, where time sings a forgotten melody, lives a creature with golden plumage: the Golden Duck.
It is no ordinary animal. It is the enchanted form of a princess who, for defying the fate imposed by her lineage, was condemned by a jealous sorcerer. Her voice, which once enchanted kings and poets, remains sealed. Her wings, a symbol of freedom, are trapped in gold. Her heart, betrayed, beats with a sadness that tinges the air of the crypt.
Every full moon, the duck sings voicelessly. Whoever hears its lament and finds it will receive an incalculable fortune: coins that shine like stars, jewels that whisper forgotten names, and a power that can change the course of history. But there is a cruel condition: the gold must be spent before the moon fades. Otherwise, all will be lost, and the seeker's soul will be trapped with the princess, another echo in the castle's cursed symphony.
Many have tried. Some have emerged rich, others have vanished without a trace. The villagers say that the duck watches with dark eyes, that its feathers gleam like enigmas, and that its presence is both a blessing and a warning.

Her seferinde tekerlekli sandalyemden işaret ettiğimde,
o gülümseyip başını sallıyordu: “Evet, evet.”
Her gülümseme göğsümü ısıtıyordu,
ve gözyaşlarım neredeyse taşacaktı.

Çok mutluydum, ama gözyaşları geldi.
“Çünkü… bunu daha önce hiç bilmiyordum.”

Yaşamak demek—
birisiyle birlikte görmek ve seçmek.
Sonunda anladım.

Küçük dükkânda,
ayıcıklar, defterler ve kupaların arasında,
kendime “Hangisini seçmeliyim?” derken buldum.
Bir rüya gibiydi.

“Bu çok tatlı, ama şu da…
Ah, karar veremiyorum!”

Belki sesim fazla yüksekti,
ama o anda,
ilk kez seçme özgürlüğünün içindeydim.
