“‘Waves’ is about human connection. The song is inspired by a recurring dream that I’ve been having for years where I find myself sinking into sand while feeling waves of energy echoing my heartbeat. After discovering that my mother shared the same dream I decided to explore it further with the rest of the band. The album explores the way certain moments shape our entire existence.”

Since the formation of The King’s Parade in 2012, the four-piece’s assured touch of melodic, crossover pop with classic Detroit blues has frontman Olly Corpe and his band evoking the credible sounds of Bill Withers or Leon Bridges.
 
This is a classic sound honed by musicians playing together more than 40 hours a week on a Hawaiian cruise ship. Think the Beatles’ unknown early gigs in Hamburg strip clubs and you’re about there.

It’s not just storyline though: The King’s Parade quickly proved their technical chops after joining the London circuit, securing a residency at legendary blues institution Ronnie Scott's - and since then they’ve played tastemaker shows at The Great Escape, Bestival and Reeperbhan Festival this year as well as embarking on their first European tour in April.
 
With early tastemakers including CLASH and EARMILK expressing their admiration for their debut release ‘Bunched Up Letters’, their second single ‘Silhouette’ further confirms The King’s Parade’s status as one of the most naturally talented and hustling young blues acts this year.

Recorded at RAK studios in London, 'Mad' is the first single from The King's Parade's upcoming EP.

Lead singer Olly Corpe says: 
"'Mad' is about the energy felt between two people we tend to call chemistry. It can happen the second you see or meet someone, or it can happen over time but it’s just a feeling you have within yourself. It can’t be quantified or justified, it’s just a state of being. Sometimes it feels so mysterious that you start to question it’s existence at all. 'Mad' is about that moment."

Recorded at RAK studios and due to be released on 22nd March as the second single of the The King's Parade's 'Mad' EP. 

Speaking about the track, frontman Olly Corpe says:
“‘Mistakes’ is a desperate call to change someone’s mind. The song describes the feeling of making the wrong choice and spending the rest of your life not knowing what the choice could have led to. Hindsight is a feeling that can help us learn from our mistakes but it is also a curse; the thought of ‘what could have been’ can stay in the back of your mind forever.”

'Brother' is the third single from The King's Parade's debut album 'Waves.' 

“‘Brother’ is a track about feeling left behind. The sudden disappearance of someone you hold close to your heart can leave an emptiness that feels impossible to fill. The song is an expression of that void.” (Olly Corpe - lead singer)

'Sister' is the fourth track from The King's Parade's debut album. Speaking about the track, lead singer Olly Corpe says:

"'Sister' is about turning a blind eye to the truth. At first it's easy to ignore but over time it consumes more and more of your thoughts until you're forced to face it. The only way out is to keep pretending and bury it deep within your heart."

'Wait' is the fifth single from The King's Parade's debut album 'Waves' (out May 2021). It was inspired after frontman Olly Corpe found some emotive letters that his grandfather sent home during the war about the feeling he was just waiting for death out there. 

'Wait' was recorded to tape in one take at Snap Studios and produced by Guy Massey (Jack Savoretti, Ed Sheeran) and Marco Pasquariello (Coldplay, Snow Patrol).

'Alright For You' is the sixth single from The King's Parade's debut album. Speaking about the song, frontman Olly Corpe explains: 

"The song is about being in a one sided relationship and the frustration that comes with that. You feel like you'll always be there for someone but that they might leave you behind at the drop of a hat."

'Little Rituals' is the seventh single from The King's Parade's debut album. Speaking about the song, frontman Olly Corpe explains:

"Life sometimes feels like a series of pre-determined building blocks. The song is about breaking the routine and questioning destiny. How much control do we have over our own paths, addictions and desires? And can we break away from ourselves or will that battle to break away ultimately be another piece of a pre-determined puzzle?"
