Lose My Mind

The Kurtiz Band is an indie/rock outfit from Colombia, formed in 2007. The Kurtiz brothers: David, Daniel & Beto,  and musician’s friends make up the band: Mauro O (lead guitar) and Lina Robledo (lead female vocal).

Thanks to shared musical tastes and influences, there is a near-telepathic understanding within the Kurtiz Band. The result: songs charged with energy yet tinged in a melancholy of sepias and greys. Songs which uplift, recalling the best of British rock, the post-punk scene, new-wave and 70´s electronic.

The Kurtiz Band es una banda ROCK formada oficialmente en el 2007, con su formación base integrada por los hermanos “Kurtiz” (David, Daniel y Beto), y por otros amigos músicos invitados que han The Kurtiz Band es una banda ROCK formada oficialmente en el 2007, integrada por los hermanos "Kurtiz" (David, Daniel y Beto), y por amigos músicos invitados que han participado en diferentes períodos de la banda (Humberto Penarette, Dani-Elisa, Paloma, Santlek, Juan Francisco, Pablo Flórez); actualmente con MauroO en la guitarra líder y recientemente se ha unido Lina Robledo como vocalista femenina principal.

El grupo se consolida fuertemente gracias a las influencias y sinergia entre los miembros, marcados fuertemente por el rock británico, post-punk, krautrock, new wave y la electrónica de los 70´s. 

Estos son apartes de medios escritos: 

- "Es uno de esos proyectos atrevidos que se le mide a explorar las vanguardias sonoras que están vigentes en el mundo musical, combinados con una particular atmósfera melancólica que hacen épicas sus piezas... Una Guitarra marcada, un Synth atmosférico, bajos enérgicos, baterías explosivas y voces desaliñadas acentuadas por su ligero estilo. Mezcla final para hacer de la “Kurtiz” un conjunto de melodías muy propias de sus miembros, conjugando piezas refinadas de sonidos de aire electrónico sin olvidar la vieja escuela rockera que invade sus inicios musicales... cómo algo tan sencillo, puede resultar tan bello y emocionante..." - "...The Kurtiz Band sensaciones oscilantes, intensas, ondas en su máxima amplitud que se manifiestan con sonidos puestos cuidadosamente uno sobre otro... sus dudas existenciales salen a flote en una serie de sonidos que de manera experimental se fusionan, y al escucharlos despiertan la curiosidad, luego te atrapan y te mantienen en esa atmósfera húmeda que poco a poco se evapora y consigue llevarte hasta un ambiente mas cálido... canciones tristes irónicamente felices... esta banda me transporta, me emociona... con sabor a época en la contemporaneidad, que es su toque de autenticidad..." - "Una de las bandas con las propuestas mas innovadoras en Medellín... Un sonido increíblemente retrospectivo, análogo, de acercamientos a bases icónicas como The Beatles, y New Order; aperitivo romántico para cortas pero sustanciosas dosis de Indie Rock..." (Revista Metrónomo 06/03/2011).

Durante el 2009 la banda entra a grabar su primer producción “The Kurtiz Band” siendo lanzado oficialmente en enero de 2010, cuenta con una presentación gráfica coherente con su música, del cual aún hay copias de CD disponibles o que puede ser descargado gratuitamente bajo la licencia de creative commons en: http://soundcloud.com/thekurtizband. 

A la fecha se han entregado 2 bonus track también grabados durante el primer disco (I´m Sorry y Lose my Mind). "Red Balloon" fue escogida para su primer video clip oficial lanzado por la productora audiovisual "Puntolink" en el 2012 ( ver: https://youtu.be/m-YkT5poLRE ).
