I took this journey as an adventure, the type of adventure that starts in a calm way, like the first steps someone takes full of hope when its time to abandon home. Little by little dark and experimental themes start to take control, the path leads us to a more dangerous section that suddenly becomes fierce and wild in which the outcome and end of the journey is celebrated.

In the first edition of Refractor we could count on one of the great local talents: @parallaxglitch

After an intense set by Tadan, the artist from Madrid began to unleash a musical repertoire around 7am, in which breaks, acid and jungle sounds predominated, marked by the memory of 90s melodies and synths that starred the golden rave era.

Emilia Grima nos ha grabado un mix repleto de bass, ritmos rotos e IDM perfectamente cohesionados y con algo que echamos mucho de menos: narrativa.

Aquí tenemos un viaje por el imaginario musical de Espe que nos ha tocado la fibra y nos ha hecho mover el cuello a niveles altísimos, imposibles de calcular por ningun sistema métrico. Un viaje que, además, se nos ha hecho muy corto.

A journey through some of the genres that you'll get to listen in 95 Open Tabs. A story based on the calm but heavily inspired by the storm, which tries to escape from the world we live in while we sit on a sofa where only people we love have sat before.

A tribute to my home and to the calm that floods me every time I walk through the door. To the peace that only music gives me, nevermind if slow or accelerated, nevermind if ambient or heavy bass tunes. It hugs me. 

A hiding place is a hole in existence and a non-place which is in fact more of a "place" than any other. A safe place. 

In my hiding place there is usually water. Water connects me to everything and to the land where I was born and transports me to the calm and to the salty waters of Gijón.

This hour has been a hiding place  :)
