"We are big fans of music from the 20s, 30s, and 40s. The simple song structures, the beautiful melodies and harmonies. With our slumber mix, we've taken a bit of the past and placed it within this sort of half-awake landscape of delays and sub frequency bass notes. We think of it as a sun-bleached-Palm-Springs-midday-nap. There are a couple of contemporary guys we've thrown in there as well because they just seemed to fit. No strict rules here. Slumber Session: American Royalty

Taken from 'Measures Of Joy', the debut album from South London based band Virginia Wing, due out on Fire Records in November 2014. The startlingly realized collection draws influence from the radiophonic sounds of Broadcast, the kosmische wonder of Cluster and the avant-garde work of This Heat and Flaming Tunes whilst never directly aping any of the above.

February 28th 2014 EFTERKLANG performed a unique concert together with SOUTH DENMARK PHILHARMONIC, SOUTH DENMARK GIRLS CHOIR, HANS EK (conductor) and a string of special guests.

They announced it as The Last Concert, but Efterklang are indeed still around. They have started a new band with Tatu Rönkkö, they are co-founders of The Lake radio and next year they will perform, as Efterklang, in an opera project that they are co-composing.

THE LAST CONCERT was meant as a farewell to the old Efterklang. A celebration of 10 years of albums and adventures. Hear it in its entirety via The Lake.
