Hailing from the Shetland, a tiny group of islands closer to Norway to the Scottish mainland, The Last - comprised of Robert Burgess (vocals), Matthew Robertson (bass), Martin Sandison (guitar) and John Gair (drums) - have been channelling their inner demons since 2010 in the hope of injecting a fresh and modern vibe to Shetland’s famously traditional music culture. After notching up support slots with the likes of top up and coming Scottish bands The Fire & I and Any Colour Black - and playing at the Tall Ships Festival 2011 in Shetland too - their rock sound has acquired a strong and varied fan base over the past two years.

After releasing their selling-like-hot-cakes debut EP ‘Halos and Heartaches’ in the hazy summer of 2011, the band took time out to pool their creativity and pen new material. Well…roll up, roll up ladies and gentlemen - The Last are back. The quartet return this December with brand new songs and two hoaching dates supporting Shetland’s favourite reunited sons, Suppository Business. Their energetic live show and knockout tunes have already been turning heads – and it looks like their charm will continue to flourish as they head into 2012 and beyond.
