Immerse yourself in the new ethnic album «UA TRIBAL VOL. 1» by the Ukrainian sound producer The Lazy Jesus. In his latest creative phase, the artist delves into the richness of ethnic aesthetics, presenting it in a new contemporary form. This release is a blend of polyrhythmic percussion and Ukrainian folk elements, and the result of this experiment is hypnotic tracks that immerse the listener in a trance-like state, as if transporting them to an ancient ritual of a mysterious tribe.

The album was released on the French label Shouka, which focuses on merging ethnic music with electronic textures and has released works by artists like Clap!Clap!, Nuri, Deena Abdelwahed, Amar 808.

The audio-visual project «UA TRIBAL» was presented a year ago at the celebration of the formation of GRV GRV at the Dovzhenko Film Studio. Over the past year, it has been showcased at various European venues and festivals in Berlin, Prague, Paris, Lyon, Brussels, Krakow, Lublin, Bratislava, Trencin, Barcelona, and featured on well-known web radios such as Rinse FM and Kiosk Radio.

The release is complemented by frame-by-frame animated work by the Kiev illustrator Yevgenia Vinokurova (Magistr Of Magic), who also creates the visual show for the project's performances.

This album contains tracks from various artists that were created during this year, from 24.2.23 to 24.2.24. There are also tracks from artists who are now defending our Independence. The collection opens with Maxym Liutcode's track 'Where Are My Dreams' featuring the voice and poetry of poet Maksym Kryvtsov, to whose memory this collection is dedicated. "Where are my dreams" is a word by the poet and machine gunner Maksym Kryvtsov, recorded in a dugout of one of the positions. He died two months before the publication of this collection. This work is an attempt to create a kind of time capsule that will preserve fragments of thoughts and ideas of someone who should be recorded in our cultural code. 

People who had something to say to us but were killed by Russia - this is a story that is more than one hundred years old.

But we have the opportunity to make sure that they remain forever in our memory.

The Lazy Jesus is a Ukrainian sound producer, DJ and musician. His music is a vast texture of percussion and elements of Ukrainian roots, his dj selections are surfing the waves of genres urban ethnic, ethno bass, footwork, beila bass. 

In 2021 he presented his author's audio-visual project UA TRIBAL, in which he shows his vision of presentation of Ukrainian ethnics in a new form. In 2022 he releases his debut album "UA TRIBAL Vol.1" on the Tunisian-French label Shouka and goes on a European tour with participation in major festivals. 

Presented his music on Rinse FM (Paris), Kiosk Radio (Brussels), Melodic Distraction (Liverpool), Gasoline Radio (Kyiv).
