The career of musician and producer Fernando Corona aka @murcof is long-running and vastly undefinable, ranging from kosmische synthesis and dubby ambient productions to electroacoustic composition and post-rock. His latest double album The Alias Sessions is a breathtaking record of crushingly beautiful compositions from an artist operating with aspirational vision. It’s a no-brainer then that his exclusive Bleep mix is just as genre-agnostic, acting as a whistle-stop tour of his nearest and dearest (for now, at least). We begin with goth-twinged dream pop from This Mortal Coil, the darkest corners of which bleed into the cinematic electronica of Cyan as we later jump continents with an abundance of global pop -- German synth chart-toppers and Japanese torch songs included.

Craven Faults takes his Bleep mix in an altogether different direction to some of the recent series entries. Rather than offering dancefloor heaters, this set looks to push towards the outer-edges of harmony, and as such we often leave rhythm behind altogether here. Sometimes this is done through focussing on the Krautrock and kosmische artists who hold such strong way over Craven Faults’ own music - Can, Tangerine Dream and Harmonia all appear - while there are cuts from avant-garde luminaries Laurie Spiegel and This Heat. By the end of the hour we’ve entered full-on art-music territory, Charles Ives’ seminal early-20th-Century orchestral composition ‘The Unanswered Question’ leading us, by different means, into a space similar to those aforementioned electronic innovations.
