The gift of reason seems to be a double edged sword.
We still go to war, meanwhile corporate interests hold the floor.
When will we know civilization has matured?

Reasons grow like weeds and patented greed just breeds...
Corruption, Corruption, 
this interruption is brought to you by human nature.

I could resort to nihilism,
but that's been an apocalyptic prison.

What more can be trivialized?
Has our capacity to empathize been outsized and compromised?
How many mistakes does it take to become wise?
Or did we already answer these questions unrealized.
The good with the bad, always rationalized.

The gift of reason seems to be a double edged sword.
We still go to war, to even somebody else's score.
Did it pass? Did civilization already become folklore?

Whether or not I ask the right questions, 
True answers, I suspect, won't be words, but actions.

There're enough double standards

Taking issue, idle chatter,
(some critiques got me stumped...)
but don't get up in arms about all your charms
just spare us petty judgement that only harms.

I didn't pick that character 
nor that old plot, 
or those lines fed to me as a little child 
that I wish I forgot.

Getting a handle on synths... Wish I were a drummer.
