A little ditty… 
Our country influenced holiday track, “Jingle Bells” is a derivative cover of the 1857 composition “The One Horse Open Sleigh,” originally created by James Lord Pierpont and first recorded in 1889.

“Jingle Bells” was originally titled “One Horse Open Sleigh” and was composed using fragments from various poems and songs of the day as an homage to the traditional Thanksgiving holiday sleigh races held across Massachusetts during the 1850’s.

The song “Jingle Bells” was first recorded on wax cylinder in 1889, making it the first known recording of a Christmas song. The 1889 recording is lost to history but a 1898 recording by the Edison Male Quartette survives. #MusicHistory

      SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. -- Northern California’s audio/visual collective Thelen Creative is set to release an animated musical short titled, Shade On Me via the groups YouTube channel on Tuesday, April, 20th (420) 2021. The lofi animated short film features the R&B influenced song of the same name featuring Los Angeles based vocalist C. Joleene and will is available via all streaming services now. The project is animated by Dedisuseno of Java, Indonesia.
    “Shade On Me” is written & produced by George Thelen, drummer for over half a decade in the now defunct San Francisco-based soul group Baby & The Luvies. Featured vocalist C. Joleene makes her base in Southern California having graced the stage with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Justin Tranter, and Wilton Felder of the Jazz Crusaders. “Shade” is the first collaboration between the two artists. The track is mastered by Simon Gibson at Abbey Road Studios, London, England with instrumentation by Thelen and Naomi Baraban on bass. Production assistance is provided by Stephen Fong at Acumen Productions, Oakland, California and Hayden Hallatt Music, Denver, Colorado.
