We’re launching this season’s podcast series with a slow burn set from Detroit veterans Scott Zacharias & Bill Spencer from our June 25th party, where they played directly before BMG who was playing before Titonton. This set is perfect for heady winter exploration, and this podcast also functions as a teaser for Erika’s album release party Tomorrow’s Fires happening Feb 25, where they will both play solo slow motion sets in the Gallery.

Texas native Gi Gi deals in head-down propulsive music. He’s released on a cast of labels including Good Morning Tapes (AUS), Quiet Time (USA), and INDEX:Records (UK/DE). Utilizing a collage-based approach that takes in a wide swath of source material, the result is a peculiar strain of ambient dance music equally at home in headphones or the back rooms of a club. 

As a DJ, the introspection that characterizes his music echoes throughout, but the net is cast wider. The energy inches upwards, and styles that trace contours in his productions present themselves more directly. Gi Gi brings nuance and warmth to his DJing, nudging dancers towards reflection and loungers towards movement.
