Machining Dreams w. Hakim Murphy invites G Marcell on the latest episode of machining dreams!! Since Hakim's youth, he believes that music has touched him in a way that made him fall in love with its rhythms, harmonies, and melodies. So in the natural progression dancing took over his body, but yet his soul craved for more and that is when playing records surfaced. Ah, then the fascination with the fast dance tracks turned into deep House production through friends and experiences, which then blossomed into a Bachelor’s degree in music composition. Liberal arts training allowed him to take classes and learn about human intellect, nature, and essentially develop his personal definition of art. Synapsis Records and Machining Dreams record labels are born and are currently releasing music by, for, and from the underground. Then after learning the craft, collaborations were born as he is part of In Pegasus Heat, Resonating, Hardware Hustlerz, Slowmotion and Dream Scoring. G. Marcell: Words of inspiration to get the world moving 360 positive. If no one today have told you that you are loved let me be the first, you are loved. G.Marcell started spinning at 89.3 WKKC on Sound Waves in Chicago on Saturday back in 1991 (as Suga Bear). In between now and then G. Marcell have beat up clubs and parties from Chicago to Indiana on up to Michigan. As far as releases go, in 2002 dropping his first E.P. w/ Bumpincity entitled “The Definition Of G. Marcell” was the start of his journey as a producer. Since then, G. Marcell have worked and produced remixes for different underground labels such as, Underground Uncensored, Noble Square Recordings (NSR), Synapsis, Minimalizm and also have started his own label. And for artist that he have worked with…….. Well………… Ricardo Miranda, Amir Alexander, Hakim Murphy and more. As of now he continues to produce and remix music and stay on a spiritual plane in the process.

Uproot & Replant (An Ode to Forests) is Otodojo’s first release on Mesma Records. Originally created as a live set for one of Mesma’s Mesmarize events in Brooklyn, the EP is a collection of four progressive compositions, lush and explosive worlds of sounds and textures neighboring ambient, dub and downtempo territories. The four tracks all combine Otodojo’s distinctive sound, Kalimba loops and natural harmonies as expansive other-worldly panoramas. Otodojo is a prolific New York-born producer, visual artist and organizer of the community-driven parties Microtones that ran in Ithaca (NY) for five years before moving to Detroit with them. Long time friend of the label, we’re honored to have them join the Mesma catalog and family.

Please introduce yourself
- I’m Hoshina Anniversary from Tokyo, Japan.
Musician making tracks w/ traditional Japanese instruments. 

Can you describe your relationship to music throughout your life?
- I started playing the guitar at the age of 16, having been struck by Billy Joel, The Police, and Prince when I was 14.
Eventually, I started playing the bass, got into jazz/fusion, and found that music became a great way to express myself.
Music gives me endless possibilities and allows me to connect with so many people.

How does Japan influence the way you make and listen to music?
- Being Japanese was complex when it came to music.
For example, if I had a yearning for the hard rock of LA in the 80's, I was disappointed that I could never be like that as a boy.
I don't like music that uses Japanese instruments, it's too tacky, or it's not music I want to wear.
So I am reconstructing Japanese music in my own way, watechno.
I am making this music in the hope that if I, as a boy, heard this music, I would have hope for this country.

How is like in Tokyo for you, both in terms of music and life in general?
- In terms of music, I really don't know what I can do in this country.
Sometimes I feel helpless, thinking that no matter how much music I make, it will never amount to anything.
However, my music cheers me up even when I am in such a mood.
Anyway, I enjoy doing music.
In terms of my daily life, I would say that my days are pretty ordinary.
But only Japan is getting left behind, the economy is getting worse, and people may not be feeling the high spirits.
But I enjoy coffee every day.
There are good coffee shops in my town.

How did you approach your Patience release, and how did that differ from your usual approach to making music?
- I thought about story-based and things like, "It would be interesting to see this kind of development.
I think I prefer to add a characteristic chord progression rather than to keep a certain groove.
I usually write songs with some degree of story-based, but I had never written a song longer than 15 minutes, and it was a fun challenge.
I'm grateful for the opportunity and I think I gained a lot of insight.

Asharion and the Eternal Gods

1. Veyrath
Antes dos reinos mortais, havia Veyrath, a terra primordial. Era como o Tír na nÓg, o Outro Mundo celta, um lugar de eterna juventude e abundância. Ali, os deuses da Tuatha Dé Danann caminhavam entre os homens, ensinando magia, poesia e guerra.

2. Asharion – Part I
No coração das florestas sagradas, nasceu Asharion, filho de sangue real e criado pelos druidas. Diziam que sua linhagem descendia de Nuada, o rei de prata, e que ele carregava consigo a marca do destino.

3. Asharion – Part II
Quando adulto, recebeu a tarefa de unir os clãs celtas dispersos contra as forças da escuridão. Os druidas o enviaram em uma peregrinação espiritual, como faziam os guerreiros iniciados, para buscar visões e a bênção dos deuses.

4. Whispers of Morrígan – Part I
A deusa Morrígan, senhora da guerra e da profecia, apareceu-lhe à beira do rio, como fez nas lendas com o herói Cúchulainn. Em seus sussurros, falou de destruição inevitável, mas também de glória eterna para aquele que aceitasse o sacrifício.

5. Moonchant
Na noite de Samhain, quando o véu entre mundos é mais fino, sacerdotisas cantaram o Cântico Lunar para proteger Asharion. Era a tradição dos druidas de acender fogueiras e invocar os espíritos ancestrais para guiar os vivos.

6. Seraphs in the Shadow
Em florestas antigas, Asharion encontrou seres entre a luz e a sombra — lembranças dos Fomoire, gigantes caóticos expulsos pelos deuses. Alguns, porém, ainda caminhavam entre os homens, como espectros da guerra eterna.

7. Crimson Halo
O céu tingiu-se de vermelho antes da batalha, como no presságio que os druidas chamavam de comharbas, sinais inevitáveis de sangue e mudança. Sob esse halo carmesim, clãs lutaram, e o destino começou a se cumprir.

8. Veil of Starlit Ashes
As cinzas das aldeias queimadas subiram ao céu, formando um véu de estrelas e fumaça. Os bardos cantaram lamentos, lembrando que até nos tempos mais sombrios, a esperança celta vivia nas estrelas, guias dos navegadores e guerreiros.

9. Sacred Echoes
Nos círculos de pedra, como em Stonehenge e nas construções megalíticas dos ancestrais, Asharion ouviu os ecos sagrados. Ali os druidas realizavam ritos para conectar os vivos ao mundo dos mortos, mantendo a memória dos reis antigos viva.

10. Luminescent Abyss
Em sua visão espiritual, Asharion desceu ao abismo da alma, semelhante ao mergulho dos bardos no imrama, as viagens místicas narradas pelos celtas. Ali, enfrentou suas sombras e voltou fortalecido, como quem retorna da morte.

11. Ashes Beneath the Throne
No salão dos reis, Asharion viu que sob cada trono só restavam cinzas. Isso refletia a história real dos celtas: chefes e reis vinham e iam, mas o povo e suas crenças ancestrais permaneciam, guardadas pelos druidas.

12. Whispers of Morrígan – Part II
Morrígan voltou a ele, como a deusa que sempre aparecia antes das batalhas. Desta vez, não havia enigma: Asharion deveria entregar sua vida, como Cúchulainn fez, para que o equilíbrio fosse restaurado.

13. Luminaris
No céu brilhou Luminaris, uma estrela que os druidas interpretaram como sinal dos deuses. Os celtas realmente observavam os astros e os usavam como guias em batalhas, colheitas e rituais. Para Asharion, foi o último presságio da vitória.

14. Awen of the Eternal Light
O herói recebeu então o Awen, símbolo da inspiração divina. O Awen, venerado entre bardos e druidas, era o sopro dos deuses que unia poesia, profecia e poder. Asharion se tornou a voz dos deuses entre os homens.

15. From Shadows to Eternal Light
Na última batalha, Asharion tombou. Mas sua morte não foi fim: foi transfiguração. Como os heróis das lendas celtas, ele atravessou as sombras e renasceu em luz, tornando-se parte eterna da memória do povo. Até hoje, diz-se que sua lenda vive em cada canção de bardo, em cada batalha travada e em cada fogo aceso em Samhain.
