Like no other, Nico Juice mixes music as a basic ingredient throughout his life. He is the head honcho of the infamous Mo’ Juice parties (alongside Mo Disko), he works for Democrazy as a concert promotor and he is a much admired DJ, firmly embedded in Ghent's (tiny) clubscene. More than anything else, Nico Juice is a longtime vinyl-enthusiast with a chunky record collection, that mainly focuses on obscure - yet infectious - dancefloor gems from all over the globe. Selection-wise, he bravely avoids the tried and tested party formulas and aims for an original, quirky sound to call his own. If we must mention music genres: disco in all its shapes, early house, tropical/exotic stuff, eighties boogie,… every tune is added to the blender meticulously. As such, his DJ-sets are like a vivacious shot of juice, that gives you a taste of the endless possibilities of the night

We're back from a winter break.... and our first remote guest set arrives live via satellite from the heart of Bavaria, courtesy of @benjamin-roeder aka Benny.

Benjamin is a resident at Bar Charlie in Munich – one of the coolest music bars we ever visited. You enter through a low-key restaurant, take the stairs down, and BOOM.... you're in a dark, tunnel-like space with sound, dancing & drinks. What else does one need, huh?

Here Benny goes into trippy territory with a selection of mystic, mind-expanding house that feels at times discoey, at times techy. We loved it & are positive that you will, too.

Life films us exactly. Our experience of it, though, lies beyond images and descriptions. Emotions, coming in irrational flashes, are non-figurable. We lose our little connection to them very quickly. We look for forms with this in mind : so they can take us to meet the subconscious. Chain reaction was a sublabel of Basic Channel founded in 1995. Peter Kuschnereit aka Substance, René Löwe aka Vainqueur, Torsten Pröfrock aka Various artists and Resilent, Andy Mellwig, Thomas Köner aka Porter Ricks, Gerhard Behles, Robert Henke, Torsten Pröfrock aka Monolake formed some of the artists of the now defunkt label.

Chain reactions is a mix tribute to the label / 1995-2003, it is influenced by glitch techno, dub and ambient. Sounds of CR are captured within tiny fragments of time and then within one’s mindspace. I think it’s important to play this mix on a decent system so you can really hear and feel the interactions between the delays, the warm basslines and the soundscapes that surrounds them.

In German : Das Leben erfasst unser Dasein mit filmischer Präzision. Unsere subjektive Erfahrung aber versagt sich diesen scharf gezeichneten Bildern und Beschreibungen. Unsere Gefühle, unsere Affekte – sie strömen in irrationalen Momentaufnahmen auf uns ein und sind in ihrer Intensität nicht messbar. Schnell entgleiten uns diese Wahrnehmungen in ihrer Flüchtigkeit. Mit dieser Prämisse sehnen wir uns immer wieder nach deren Gestalt: Damit sie uns dem Unterbewussten begegnen lassen. Chain Reaction wurde im Jahre 1995 als Sublabel von Basic Channel gegründet. Die verwendete Music von Chain Reaction ist dabei vollkommen subjektiv motiviert verwendet worden. Um der Musik gerecht zu werden sollte sie auf einer angemessenen Stereoanlage abgespielt werden, damit die Wechselwirkung zwischen Delays, warmen Bassläufen und den alles umgebenden Klangkonstrukten erfahrbar wird.
