On January 22nd, 2023 the world celebrated the Lunar New Year, and the gate was opened to welcome the astrological proclivities and inclinations of the Yin Water Rabbit. Now, on February 1st, patiently and excitedly awaiting for the arrival of the Rabbit, which is to occur on February 4th, we celebrate the new year and the arrival of a very special contribution to our fledgling series, provided by the inspirational selector, and friend of many years, Cay Horiuchi.

In Cay's words: 

"This mix features some of the tracks I played for a cute underground NYE party organized by my friends in the unceded lands of the Chinook and Multnomah tribes. DJ Kfeelz's tastes are influenced by her eclectic upbringing in Brooklyn, NY.  As a member of the women and non-binary person of color DJ collective Miss/chief and a Level Party 2023 resident, she plays all over the city, carrying a steady energy of optimism in all her sets.  As a solo artist, she displays an ear for soothing sounds on her Lot Radio show, Swimming. Her DJ sets veer from lush downtempo to hands-in-the-air house moments and surprise Italo bangers. 

Whether it is moving her feet on the dance floor or digging for tunes, she is thankful to continue to be moved by the magic of music. Her intent is to bring joy to the dance floor and share in the love of music with others ✨

"I have been listening to a lot of records at home lately as well as digging for new tunes when I have free time. This mix weaves together records I’ve bought in Canada and NYC as well as records that have been given to me. I feel very lucky and grateful to derive immense joy from music; my only goal is to share that stoke with others."
