As Sydney returns to the dance, we couldn't think of many more DJs as suited to host #20 right now. Tim Boyd comes in very hot for this instalment with 2 hours of jacking house and soul fillers originally intended to grace the dancers at the Community Chest spring soirée. A facelift on the thumbnail starting with a face we are happy to lift onto the thumbnail.. if your ears haven’t had the pleasure of meeting this selector in a Sydney club yet, we are excited for your listen.

"I haven't had my turntables since moving to Canberra in June and haven't been able to travel back into NSW to pick them up until the border opened in the last couple weeks. After five years in the desert, Geoglyph returns with a new solo album Otherworldly. Recorded on analogue synths, bass guitar, flute, and melodica, and with guest appearances from guitarists Jason Bond and Toby Snowden, this is a warm, proggy album with a handmade feel. Continuing on the path set by Geolinguistic and Messages from the Resonator, each track tells a story with contrasting sections. COME AND HEAR: inscrutable ceremonies in twilit caverns; ancient glyphs carved on stony mesas; impossible structures which defy space and time.

This mix was recorded at Institut für Zukunft in Leipzig, where we played a four hour opening set. We made some small edits and added some tracks to finalise the mix. There is a magic about playing opening sets, and this night was special in particular — the lights got turned off and we played our first ambient track as a tuft of smoke was blown into club, which remained midair in the middle of the dance floor, like a sculpture — and it slowly vanished. The first guest came in and sat down against the concrete column, listening attentively as more smoke-sculptures formed around him. We were happy to play the first 20 minutes just for him.

There is a place for digging called VKontakte, a Facebook-like social network with millions of pirated tracks where you can find almost anything. Also you can see who uploaded the tracks. And, around 2011-2013, I saw a name “Anton Shmargovich” almost near all music I was looking for. A nerd, ultra-digger, local legend (he’s making very popular ‘OKO’ public group on Facebook and aforementioned VKontakte) and the guy you can meet almost everyday around 20ft Radio in Kyiv (where he has a show called ‘Unaussprechlichen Kulten‘). The music selected carefully for this podcast was recorded between 1970s and 1990s, it spans from percussive Jazz Funk and translucent Minimal Dub to the anxious new-age Boogie and toxic synth Balearica “with lots of unknown masterpieces of unacademic Avant-garde for the romantics with moon hearts”

This month's podcast features long time Innerflight inspiration Tom Of England.  The man has gone by many names over the years. Mammal, Welcome Stranger, (1/2) of Rub and Tug just to name a few... But none as recognizable and beloved as DJ Thomas of the legendary Wicked Crew. To call him an inspiration is putting it lightly as he may have been responsible for putting out the mixtape that changed EVERYTHING for certain members of Innerflight.  We have the honor and privilege of hosting him this Saturday, June 8th at the Monkey Loft for our Drop monthly.  Joining him on the decks are Innerflight residents J-Sun and Rhines. We'll also be celebrating both of their birthday at the shindig so come on down and help them party down proper for the occasion.
