Frankie Teardrop is a DJ and event producer based out of Vancouver & Montreal, Canada. Co-creator of @lipevents & @slutislandfestival and creator of queer monthly event series LIP, Frankie has been at the forefront of creating spaces for Montreal's queer community. 

Djing in clubs and underground spaces all over North America, Frankie's sets deliver 90s/inspired house and techno, trance, progressive house, and the occasional euro-dance hits and edits.

Fleika grew up during the heyday of Prague’s rave culture, coming of age
as a DJ in booths built for a single night only. The Czech techno renaissance formed him, then the newly-born club culture embraced him as one of its main protagonists.
Industrial ruins, modernist landmarks; Fleika’s trip through the blooming nightlife imbued his craft with intuition and technical precision. His sets are a humble display of his ability to hijack the mind of a listener. He likes his dancefloor quiet. No cheers, no chants, just a stomping crowd, locked in their own heads.
The Ankali resident digs anything that kicks, melts or makes one’s mind trip, but mainly thrives on diving into the vast depths of hypnotic and psychedelic techno – as deep as it gets.

For our 22nd podcast we‘re happy to welcome Session Restore (@sessionrestore) from Hannover. Besides being active as a DJ and producer for over two decades, he’s also running rauh (@rauh) – a label, event and mix series that we can highly recommend to check. In the mix he recorded for us, he‘s blending warm, dubby, sometimes house leaning and groovy tracks with a handful of funky backspins. Perfectly suiting those spring vibes!

"Medallion Man is co-founder, resident and the driving force behind Loose Lips. Since its launch in October 2014, he has directed its growth into a well-respected and ever-ambitious diverse musical platform; curating events, label releases, charity work, mix series, video content, radio shows and directing the blog's activities.

His own DJing continues to blossom, gaining a reputation for tempo-spanning and intriguing mixing; bringing together influences of rave culture, hip hop and abstract electronics. His bookings have taken him on American & European tours, and see him most regularly gigging in the UK where he runs Loose Lips and Techno Cafe events, as well as in Portugal, where he co-runs a club night called Wyrd Wrld in Lisboa, bringing together artists deeply rooted in the rave continuum.

He first started playing on the radio, developing a unique take on experimental and electronic music, whilst incorporating regular interviews exploring communitarianism, club culture, mental health, production, music publishing and much more. Animating several shows on different stations over the last decade, he continues to breathe new life into an evolving love affair with radio.

Back in April 2017, his radio passion inspired him to launch a new community-driven station, 199Radio; which quickly grew into a thriving, internationally recognised project. Then, this evolved into Threads, which launched in Jan 2019 and is still going strong; focused on ‘threading together’ a range of cutting edge music, art and discussion.

To unite these passions, he is also the co-founder of 'London Promoter Society' - a union that aims to bring back more cohesion and collective spirit into London's diverse musical melting pot of events; representing and bringing together grassroots promoters from various scenes, sounds and generations."

I spend more of my time curating events rather than DJing so I find a lot of my time is put into actually booking DJs I am enthused by, but this time I get to filter that into a mix. I’ve enjoyed the sonically diverse mixes you’ve been posting on the site so when making the mix I felt comfortable with whatever tracks/flow I was feeling in the moment. This mix has quite a few new tracks by Montreal (Tio'tia:ke) producers like Ouri, Gene Tellem and Marie Davidson, I wanted to keep sections of it local as a reminder of who I’m inspired by offline at the parties I physically go to. Orbiting the cosmic specters of techno, trance, house and breaks, Cora’s ever-evolving sound delivers with compelling momentum and astral intuition – superimposing dramatic subplots and emotional undertows onto unfurling rhythmic narratives, while channeling an acute sensitivity to the kinetic desires of the dancefloor.
