A. Wide awake, constantly dissatisfied, obsessively making art right on the line between Love & Hate.

Q. How long have you been a part of the NYC music scene?
A. Just over a decade, with pleasure. Cliff notes: I run my own event series, Spiritual Mental Physical, and I'm the booker/Mutha of the House at Jupiter Disco on weds/thurs/fri/sat nights. Producing now too...releasing stuff later this year...

Q. Tell us a little bit about this mix.
A. This mix is a one-take honest expression of the passion and fury I channel whenever I play. Every record used is a topshelf favorite of mine- they are weapons, love notes, premonitions, tools, mementos. They are full of magik. I've seen these records change people. I apply the best narrative possible and then get out of the way. I hope it makes your heart burn and pushes you deeper into your own art.

BIO:
California-bred Robert Yang, also known as Bézier, is an American DJ and producer.

While best known for being one of the earliest members of the queer San Francisco musical collective Honey Soundsystem, Yang also produces under multiple aliases and heads three blooming labels, Bodyzone, m-i-v (short for mémoire involontaire), and Piece of Work. Bézier cut his teeth in the San Francisco scene for a decade, and now firmly planted in Berlin, where he continues to expand his sound and vision into a cohesive yet dynamic mosaic.

Bézier’s productions walk the line between soft and hard, emotive and gritty. From their early interest in braindance and IDM to their dance-forward proclivities, Bézier’s influences are wide-ranging, resulting in music that is as carefree as it is relentless. A master of synth work, Bézier employs a range of analog synthesizers to create highly textured tracks that recall a retro-futuristic soundscape. The atmosphere of these releases, often cinematic, bring to mind motorbikes zipping through alleyways or neon sunsets dripping with a kind of dystopian euphoria.
