The Bill Laswell Research Institute was coined by a group of like minded record heads based here in Philadelphia. Time and time again, someone in the crew would bring something mind blowing to a listening session and Bill's name would pop-up in the credits. This inevitably led to unraveling minds and eye opening conversations in the group, followed by more worm-hole like research where we realized the true prolificness and scope of one man’s breath of work. Now we know we were late to a party super fans have been having for years, but we are just happy to be at the party. It’s truly astonishing how Bill Laswell collided with vastly divergent musicians and genres while somehow still representing complementary musical spheres.

In this 82nd edition DJ Fett Burger has made a mix including various of genres mixed in a special ruff around the edges eclectic burger way. House music is also something you can hear, so be prepared for freak outs for the crowd who likes the late hours of the night. This mix is also a musical shout out to a lot of the talented friends and fellow producers who have their sound in the mix. And as a bonus, some released and unreleased burger joints.   

The Burger man is happy to be back on trushmix again. Hope you all enjoy it.

Lorenz Linder, the Leipzig based DJ and producer better known as Mix Mup has consolidated a strong identity of records over his 20 years of releasing music, building a stellar reputation of crafting creative abstracted groovers and house music with minimal embellishments. We caught up Linder to discuss taking his Molto alias on the road, his passion for building musical based sculptures and his 3rd solo EP for Will Bankhead's The Trilogy Tapes. Reflecting his current November mood, this hour-long Truancy Volume demonstrates the off-kilter and rhythmically devious nature of a Mix Mup record to a tee. A familiar and gratifying territory for those who have regularly followed his solo work and collaborations alongside frequent co-conspirator Kassem Mosse, the mix opens with a track from Mix Mup's forthcoming Trilogy Tapes EP, before ruggedly detailing into tracks from Benjamin Brunn, unreleased Even Tuell, past Truancy Volume mixers Space Afrika and local Leipzig talent CFM.
