Not An Animal Podcast No.71 - SAM FITZGERALD - August 21

Jonny, a New York native started his first DJ gig at the Pyramid Cocktail Lounge soon after it opened. He started DJing in basements and clubs in downtown Manhattan while playing bass as a member of the band Konk. Regularly performing at Mudd Club and Danceteria, Konk was invited to perform at the Paradise Garage and The Loft.
 Throughout the 1990’s Jonny continued playing at clubs downtown and promoting the parties Aquabooty at Mother and S.O.A.P. at the Belle Cafe and 205 Club. 
A favorite weekly gig was Sunday nights at Nell’s, for three years playing a mix of house, hip-hop, dancehall and disco. He produced records for Jungle Sounds and has written music for television.  
 Jonny is living on the French/Swiss border. Pre-lockdown he’d been Djing in Geneva, Paris, Zurich and was invited to Japan to DJ. Currently he’s making music and doing a mixshow twice a month on radio in France.
