They opened a record shop in the heart of NYC 8 years ago called Second Hand Records NYC.
They operate 4 record labels (Second Hand Records / Just What The World Needs.. / TRNWRK / Bring It Back) covering House, Disco, Leftfield, Techno, Reissues.
They run a hi-fidelity, private-invite only dance space called Musicland, where they’ve invited a few names you might recognize such as Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, Tom Of England,  DJ Spinna, Ge-ology, Tone Nimble, Rahaan, Mark Grusane, Lee Collins, Louise Chen, Donna Leake, & Carlos Suffrount…

We’ve heard they're also a solid DJ to throw in for good measure.

Our man Tiago was in town recently for some gigs and was nice enough to come out to Kane studios to record a podcast, hang, and have some liquid refreshments. Hailing from Lisbon where he is a weekly resident at Club Lux, Tiago has a laid back intensity that is reflected in the expansive and inquisitive nature of his sets. Raised on good music in his home, turned on to drumming by his older brother, he came to Dj'ing via live music. He has been at it for close to twenty years, and in the last decade added production work to his resume. As predicted, he did not disappoint! In our opinion (and many others) Walla P is one of the purest and most talented DJs in the funk, disco, and boogie sphere, and we can’t wait to see him do his thing here in Vancouver for the first time.

Here are a few words about his mix from the man himself…

“For this guest mix, I got inspired by listening to some of the previous mixes, lots of atmospheric/ambient grooves from records that came out over the last decade or so. Lots of stuff you don’t get to usually play, but I like to think that this could be the soundtrack for my flight to Vancouver.”
