The mix I initially prepared for this series I recorded a couple of times -  it felt like I was trying too hard to make something work and it just wasn’t sitting right… but after a night of djing at my friend Amelia Holt’s crib and then watching our friend liivwutang literally tear the club apart, I recorded this session the next day. I wasn’t recording with the intention of using it for anything so there was 0 pressure, I just plugged in my usb and tried to ride the vibes I was blessed with from the night before and something good happened. So record all your sessions and more importantly stay inspired/energized by the work n skills of other djs bc why did we wanna start doing this in the first place? some dj rocked your shit fr.

We met Bristol's Boursin back in the all too brief punctuation between Covid variants, when it was possible for strangers to stumble around fields serenaded by distant, muffled bass bins together, and as with anyone we demand a Forecast from we liked the cut of his jib. 

He's an excellent DJ, a pint provider at the great Strange Brew and when asked to describe the mix he did so thusly:

"This mix is pure beach vibes, if your beach is two duvets surrounded by an unhinged number of candles as the winds howl outside. How did you get your DJ name?

I was messing around with a friend, and we were laughing at how absurd this name would sound on a line up.

Fav bpm and why?

140 is the bpm I am truly comfortable in. If I go higher I am ramping it up. Slower than 140bpm is basically downtempo

What is your favorite party/collective where you reside and why?

Climax - these women are making their own space and crafting their own vibe in the current techno paradigm. Their mission and ethics are on point, while their music tastes reside outside of time.

What would you like to see in the future for the dance community?

Post capitalism. Humans gathered all the gun supply on Earth, loaded it on a big spaceship and sent it off into the cosmos. The rich are abolished. Reparations have been paid. Therapy has been mandatory for yt men for a few decades now. There is no such thing anymore as a “bedroom producer”, we record our music directly from our brains. Rave Etiquette and Rave History are the subjects studied in middle-school. There is no talk at the raves in the front of the dance floor - we have telepathy for that. DJing as a craft remains the same because it has always been ahead of its time.
