14세에 첫 턴테이블을 마련한 켄 메이어는 90년대 중반부터 테크노 디제이로 활동하기 시작했다. 켄은 그의 형이자 오랜 협력자인 칼(Karl)과 함께 Drop Bass, Black Nation 페스티벌 및 미국 중서부 전역의 다양한 파티에서 활동했으며, Surgeon, Anthony Shakir, BMG, John Roberts, James Ruskin, Spencer Kincy, Function과 같은 전설적인 아티스트들과 함께 수많은 언더그라운드 이벤트를 조직해 왔다. 그는 시카고의 전설적인 Gramaphone Records 소속으로 활동하며 WNUR, WHPK와 같은 시카고 방송국에서 매주 라디오 쇼를 진행했으며, 현재는 뉴욕 기반의 Standards & Practices 레이블을 공동 운영하고 있다. 또한, 켄은 레지스(Regis)가 운영하는 Downwards, 뉴욕 딥 앰비언트의 심장 Mysteries of the Deep 레이블을 통해 Ken Meier와 Obelus의 이름으로 꾸준히 자신의 음악을 발표하고 있으며, 2023년 8월에는 Standards & Practices 레이블을 통해 새로운 EP ‘Imitable Behaviors’를 발매하였다.

Nadia Struiwigh is a producer, live artist, DJ and resident of Tresor.  Her music spans ambient, electro and techno and has been featured on labels like Nous’klaer Audio, Dekmantel and Central Processing Unit. In 2024 she founded the label Distorted Waves focussing on hardware-centered, more experimental works. Her DJ sets explore driving and psychedelic techno, while also delving into deeper sounds, while her live sets are known for their unique sonic improvisation. 

“An ode to the sounds and storytelling I’ll continue to explore from here on out.
After the pandemic, I felt a bit unmoored. Spending time in Australia distanced me from the European scene, and I found myself feeling quite lost. Once I returned, I initially focused on Techno, but soon realized my true foundation has always been experimental music and narrative-driven performances—whether in my own productions, live sets, or DJ sets. I’m grateful to have rediscovered my creative center, and I’m excited to share this next chapter. I’m fully back, with more jungle and ambient experimental releases on the way! It’s a rare treat to share this recording from two of my favorite powerhouse selectors, Rotterdam’s Nelly and Oslo’s Marius Bø, who linked behind the decks at Nantes’ renowned Macadam last December for a night curated by club resident Bambi. The result, as expected, soars. Witness a three-hour cyclone of blistering, mind-shattering divinations capturing these two in their finest element, an uplifting of the psyche leaving no layer unturned. Thanks Nelly & Marius!

Berlin’s Refracted has been a name dear to us for some time, having contributed a remix to our inaugural label release nearly six years ago. The Paral·lel co-curator and resident has cultivated a devoted following over the years for his uncompromising vision developed through a remarkable catalog of releases for label such as Silent Season, Bitta, Sublunar and his own Mind Express. For our series Refracted contributes a mix true to his signature style, crystalline and patiently layered with unwavering intent, drawing across decades and genres to invite us into a divine state of mind. Sure Thing Mix 140: Refracted

Next up in our mix series is Shoal, a Dutch producer and DJ who recently relocated to Prague. Known for his hypnotic, emotionally layered sound, Shoal crafts deep, transportive journeys through trippy textures, modular synthesizers, and rolling rhythms. A core member of the ISOTOOP collective, he’s performed at leading underground spots like De School, Tresor, and Ratherlost. His releases on labels like Tikita, Harmony Recordings, Monument, our own Ute.Rec, and most recently Animalia, continue to expand and refine his unique sonic voice within the scene.

In this mix, Shoal delivers a 1.5-hour live set full of acid-dripping techno, spacey atmospheres, and heads-down minimalism. It’s a slow-burning, carefully building mix that captures the raw live sounds and subtle depth that define his sound. A live-set working just as much the mind as the body.

What’s better than a mix from electronic music royalty Cio D’Or? Two mixes. This week we present something very special, a tale told across two chapters. As a mainstay of techno for over two decades, Cio D'Or has consistently pushed boundaries, gracing the decks of revered institutions worldwide and crafting a legendary discography with releases on Prologue, Semantica, Hypnus, Time to Express and more. 

Across both mixes you will hear Cio’s unparalleled ability for sculpting minimalism and sonic architecture, masterfully recontextualizing familiar and obscure tracks alike, breathing new life into them and unveiling hidden dimensions. She dissects, reassembles and creates intricate connections between disparate sounds, all flawlessly executed with an alchemist’s touch.

Prisma 33 starts at a slower tempo, delicately building into an eruption of psychedelic minimalism. Dada grows with kinetic energy, with Cio sculpting sounds and textures into a deep trip where time seems to bend and dissolve, finishing with an unexpected wildcard that only a master selector could make work.

Hailing from Munich, Polygonia is a core member of the IO and Lowless collectives, who together form a family and outlet for deep techno across Europe. Her own production work is captivating, swathed in brooding ambience and revealed through moments of vibrant emotion, captured well in her recently released full-length "In The Dead Of Night." Here she effortlessly weaves her own tracks with those of her contemporaries, and the result is intoxicating.
