Next up in our mix series is our good friend and collaborator from Amsterdam, Brent Jacko. As co-founder of Minimal Collective, he’s exploring the transversal relation between music and other artistic disciplines  - an overarching view he’s translating throughout his sonic body of work. He has been playing at places like De School, Ratherlost, and minutiae festival, where performances ranged from sitdown to dancefloor. With a blend of stipped-back textures, haunting atmospheres, and unexpected turns, he aims to sculpt thought-provoking landscapes to be absorbed and revisited. 

Embark on a journey as Brent delves into captivating hypnotic atmospheres of metallic artefacts and brooding organisms, meticulously crafting a mix that gradually escalates tension with each passing moment. Through a fusion of mind-tickling ambient and heady techno, while exploring the field between stillness and movement in a sluggish suspension, Brent skillfully guides you from deep states of contemplation to vibrant intensity - all achieved through a profound sense of hypnosis.

Welcome to our friend @tenziasounds to this 27th episode of the Herbarium series. 🥁 
He recorded a journey containing many own compositions next to carefully selected gems, fitting nicely together to tell the story of the flower Bellis Perennis. 

Here is the little backstory about his choise:
For this episode, the daisy—Gänseblümchen in German—serves as inspiration. A small and familiar flower, yet one that holds an almost otherworldly presence when viewed through the eyes of a child. It was the first flower Tenzia remembers noticing while exploring the world with boundless imagination, back when the size of things was still unknown and a simple bloom could become an entire universe. This mix draws from those memories—of wonder, scale, and the strange way perception can stretch and transform. An element of mystery and eeriness flows through the selections, but also a playful energy, reflected not only in surreal soundscapes but in a rhythmic, danceable pulse that keeps everything in motion, mirroring the fantastical, strange, and sometimes silly stories once imagined while lost in thought.

Tenzia is a Munich-based audiovisual artist exploring the boundaries between sound, structure, and perception. The work thrives in contrasts, merging the organic with the synthetic, the delicate with the abrasive. As a producer, Tenzia focuses on intricate sound design, immersive grooves, and psychedelic sonic environments, drawing from techno, psychedelic, house, experimental, drum and bass, dub, hip-hop, tek, breakcore, IDM, and beyond. Productions and performances blur genres and challenge conventions, creating deeply textured and emotive soundscapes.
Both visually and sonically, the work defies conventional patterns, shifting and evolving with each project. As part of the Munich-based label and collective IO Records, a constant push toward immersive experiences continues to blur the lines.

JEANS: When I was invited to play at ZERØ BPM and the concept was explained to me, I was immediately sold. I’ve always been fascinated by frequencies, sound waves, and their profound effect on the environment. For years, I’ve been quietly experimenting with them in the background, and this was the perfect opportunity to bring that experiment into the open.

I’ve often found it nearly impossible to fully surrender to music during a club night—especially in the Netherlands—because I know too many people, and conversations constantly pull me out of the experience. Zero BPM created a space where silence was not just encouraged but required, compelling everyone to truly listen.

For this set, I carefully selected frequencies and tones designed to interact with specific aspects of the mind and emotions. Since brain waves take approximately eight minutes to synchronize with surrounding sounds, I maintained particular frequencies long enough for everyone in the room to align and resonate as one. The result was breathtaking.

Afterward, I received an overwhelming number of responses from people who had experienced profound inner journeys—some even describing it as a turning point in their lives, pushing them to confront and work through personal obstacles.

To me, this is what music is truly about. I am merely a conduit, translating the energy we collectively manifest into sound and waves—frequencies that allow us to vibrate together, creating a healing force for the mind and soul.

This set marked a full-circle moment, childhood friends united behind the decks for their first ever B2B set on New Year's Day. The chemistry was palpable from the fun they were having in the booth, which radiated onto the Colorfloor and had everybody locked in, warping the energy into that special night.

There’s a rhythm to how the festival unfolds. Thursday opens slowly, almost like a breath in. By Friday night, the pulse is stronger, but not too heavy. Monument festival had settled into its rhythm, and Kia and Polygonia stepped into the wooden dj-booth together.

The forest floor was vibrating, the crowd fully present. Their set matched the moment—playful, warm, and alive. It felt like Friday was always meant to sound like this. Varden became their playground.

This was more than a strong back-to-back. Two years earlier, they met here, both playing solo, both part of the Monument line-up for the first time. This night marked an anniversary of their friendship. From solo artists to close friends, now creating something special together.
