"The mix-not-mix was recorded shortly after Alexis asked if I’d record some of my influences. I realized that I probably don’t have influences, but that there are lots of records I’ve been growing up with before I left Belgrade at the beginning of the 90s. I pulled some of the records and recorded some songs, realized afterwards that the records end in 1991 when I left. It’s more an old fashioned idea of a tape for someone dear than a mix"

https://soundcloud.com/marijanaanajiram grew up in Serbia, living in Belgrade most of the time, where she caught the nightlife bug. Nowadays she's in Cologne, a molecular biologist and works in research, trying to tackle down secrets of mitochondria, or the main factories of energy in our bodies. While working in the lab, she listens to lots of music, focused and entranced. She started collecting in 1989, but only plays in public since 2019. Aside she's also a photographer, hoarding cameras from the 80s or older, and mostly interested in capturing timeless moments. Whenever she wakes up, she needs 2 hours on her own. And she's a real proper coffee freak, bad one gets her all itchy and scratchy.

After a crazy intro, the mix takes off and swallows you up, before spitting you out. A deliciously dubby and intergalactic concoction, a fearlessly atmospheric blend, groovy, delay-laden, quirky, stargazing. Eyes wide shut.....

The next instalment in the Phase Group Mix series is delivered by dear friend and contributing artist to the label, Low Bat. 

Low Bat lives amongst the black coal hills of northern France. When he isn’t marking textbooks and exposing Neue Deutsche Welle to the classrooms, the French DJ, musician and teacher keeps himself busy playing with his band Jean Luc, co-running the Yellow Light of Death festival and curating radio as 1/3 of the team behind Tblisi’s Mutant Radio. 

On top of this, he makes up 1/2 of Lowspace, the newest additions to Phase Group, who’s split tape with Lostsoundbytes will be coming out in December

His Phase Group Mix is a masterfully sequenced mad ride through post punk, psych rock, French trip hop, and proto trance. Thanks Louis!

For this special occasion show returns with the new episode together with Mr. Monday, Sacha Mambo and Jokubas Bajorinas.
Mr. Monday will take us by the hand and brew us some steaming cardamom coffee before Sacha Mambo asks us take a deep breath, slow down and let ourselves be guided down the rabbit hole. Jokubas Bajorinas will take up the mantle last and make sure that his eclectic, textured selections leave a lasting impact long after we emerge back to our realities.

The Frenchman has been active in the scene for more than 7 years, co-running the cassette-focused label Maturre in Berlin as well as releasing full EPs on Brokntoys, Lost Dogs Entertainment, and dozen of singles and remixes on other platforms. With a keen ear for melody, Poperttelli’s versatile vision can seamlessly bring together anything from grubby electro or industrial EBM to hypnotic or even funky drifts. Poperttelli’ DT podcast 198 is full of well-executed changes of style and tone as well as evocative soundscapes, shaping up a great listening experience in the midst of the current winter gloominess. We've also spoken with the artist about his upbringing, post-pandemic thoughts and music ventures.
