The stunning selection in this week's show comes from a real Balearic aficionado and a veteran of the Balearic scene Sir Robert Harris aka Dr. Rob (Ban Ban Ton Ton).

Born and raised in South London, Dr. Rob now resides in the mountains of Japan. As a member of the Lone Star Crew, a super Balearic group, together with Max Essa and Ken Hidaka, for over a decade, he’s been hosting the Lone Star parties held at Bar Bonobo, in the Harajuku district of Tokyo.
Their recent collaboration on the superb Music for Dreams compilation -‘Oto No Wa: Selected Sounds of Japan 1988​-​2018’ has certainly brought some wonderful Japanese music to a new audience. 

He produces a weekly radio show for MFD Radio and another long-running program, The Remedy, broadcast every Thursday and Saturday evening on his local station, FM Karuizawa.
Dr. Rob contributes to Electronic Sound Magazine and Faith Fanzine, writes for Test Pressing, and runs, the Ban Ban Ton Ton blog.

As you know he’s got an outstanding taste in music (especially of a soul, balearic, electronic and disco nature) so in the next 2 hours of Balearic bliss,  hope you all enjoy his beautiful sunset selection.

Native New Yorker fatik has been involved in the rich musical history of New York City for over 5+years doing A+R & handling the buying (new music) for Downtown 304 Records. This year he opened up the 1st brick & mortar shop in NYC that offers New Vinyl / Used Vinyl / Manufacture / Distribution called Second Hand Records in Bushwick NY. On the show Second Hand Love, he showcases the varying degrees of psychedelic soul music thru various genres ranging from Fusion, Disco, Funk, Soul, Rare Grooves, Jazz, Boogie, Afro, & Rock. Over to the mix. Faint Waves weaves between musical peers and inspirations, with lovely selections from Lee Ritenour, Max Essa and Sorcerer among others. The mix is clearly a tribute to the artists included, but the mellow mood is consistent throughout. In that sense, the mix runs parallel to Faint Waves' own musical intent, always focusing more on the mood than anything else. Two of his own records make the cut for this mix, ‘Aphrodesia' and 'Eternal Seas' from NuNorthern Soul, the latter being unofficially remixed exclusively for this mix.

Thanks to all my friends who came out to shop and to all the new friends who stopped by the DJ booth and introduced themselves. It took me back to the Wax, Beat Non Stop, DMC etc. days on Melrose. The local gathering spots where you got all the gossip, updates, rumors, love stories, the scoop on events and of course all the old & new music first.
